Excellent big rig friendly RV Park, we typically use it for an overnight stay and have stayed here several times. but it is a destination park as well if you are so inclined (there is a lot to do here with young kids). We were surprised the charge for our FHU site in the new section was only $38 with senior discount - this was on Oct 6, 2022. The new section has unusually (for a private park) well spaced FHU sites that will fit any sized rig, some with great views, all are back-ins. This section has only young trees so not much shade but no issue for satellite reception. The best sites here IMO are on the outer perimeter of the loop on the north side. The sites are gravel/grass with the grass taking over the gravel, the roadways are asphalt and no problem maneuvering a 45' motorhome with tow. The older section has back-ins as well as some pull thrus that should fit a 45 with tow vehicle (guessing about 65' long), but are closer together with heavier tree cover and are not FHU. The front desk is friendly and the lodge is beautiful. The Home restaurant 7 miles away in Archbold is a great breakfast spot. There are also on-site eateries but we have not tried them. If driving westbound on the Ohio Turnpike, GPS seems to want to take you off the interstate at exit 34 and bring you in via US20A which is fine and saves some tolls. If you would rather not drive the additional 9 miles on a 2 lane highway, take...
Read moreWe stayed specifically at the tent camping. Now 10 camping you have no water hookup and no electricity hook up but you have the option if you go further out where the RV's usually go. We do have a water spicket to fill up a bucket and we do have a fire circle.
The lake or man-made pond that the tents are situated on is beautiful. The only downside is the ducks and geese so watch out for poop.
We also have a shower house bath house and laundry facility we can use. For those of us who are so inclined you can go inside and go swimming and for a $7 a person fee you can have a hot breakfast at the Inn as well.
If you would rather keep your experience purely outdoors there is a playground a volleyball court a basketball court a tetherball and a couple of walking trails. The highlight I think is the splash pad that is fun for the whole family. Also there's a couple of larger shelters and a shuffle ball cord and a larger fire pit that you can rent out for the night if you want. For the most part staff was polite, helpful, courteous and respectful. I would...
Read moreNice smaller campground with access to the hotel pool (limited hours). They advertise fishing on their lake but large weeds restrict access and no fishing pier and they don't sell bait. Fire pits are small and the playground is at the entrance to the campground not centralized to the park. Attractions are within walking distance but glad we brought bikes. The Barn restaurant was great, a little disappointed in the Bakery just thought their would be more variety. Splash pad for the kids, tether ball, horse shoes, shuffle board, corn hole, basketball & (volleyball net that needed attention). No enforcement of the campground rules such as sewer hoses just shove down the drain without the connection letting off sewer waste smell seen several campers doing this. Outdoor rugs not allowed unless raining about 1/3 had rugs out. Pet peev of mine no walking thru someone else's site unless invited. Granted this is campers not following the rules but still...
