The front desk was very friendly & helpful when we arrived. There is popcorn & ice water with lemon in the lobby which is nice. Overall our 3 night stay was fine. The beds & pillows were not that comfy but we slept. You can hear a lot going on outside the room. At night I just turned on the fan on the ac to run continuously & it drowned out noise. The pool was a bit chilly but me & my kids still used it. There is a smaller wading pool which I thought was a hot tub when I seen the pics & booked the room haha (completely my mistake). It would be great for little ones. Breakfast was ok but kept running out of food, muffins, milk, waffle batter & it took awhile to be replaced every morning. On Sunday it was very busy and the poor young man taking care of it was also having to run the desk. That's ridiculous! You need to have at least 2 people...one doing breakfast & one running the desk & helping with breakfast. People were upset & a few were awfully rude to the young man but he handled it nicely. I let him know he was doing as great of job as he could.

The hotel itself was ok it’s back away from the highway and it’s relatively quiet. The staff at check in very slow and totally clueless on how the room numbers work I asked several times as the hotel is having a facelift that l didn’t want to be on the renovation side person looked at me and advised didn’t know the room numbers l explained that there’s odds and evens. So took the key walked to room and walked back as room was on wrong side. They hold $150 deposit and well from the experience on getting checked in wasn’t much fun it’s a ok hotel nothing much. And when it comes too the room carpet damage and in the bathroom the ceiling was damage. And the breakfast was very disappointing warm part was dry scrambled eggs and biscuits. Luckily there is a restaurant close by to get breakfast. For the size of the room the bathroom was very small. It feels like they went out on space to have a good size bed a living space then the bathroom it’s functional but you can touch the walls.

Do not stay at this hotel!!!! If I could give this place zero stars I would. First off the it smells like cigarettes, weed, and mildew although it’s suppose to be a smoke free hotel. Once we got into the room we could tell right away the room had not been cleaned properly at all. The sheets had stains and were all dirty. There were crumbs on the night stand and on the bed. It literally looked like someone had went to the restroom and used our hair dryer to wipe. There was also mysterious substances all over the walls and on the picture frames. I went up to get new sheets which were also not clean and on my way I saw a homeless lady laying next to our ice machine. This hotel needs to be shut down immediately. The only thing keeping this place a float is the front desk lady. She is super nice and accommodating but she doesn’t deserve to have to run a crap show hotel.

If I could leave negative stars I would. We were in town for a continuing education seminar. Apparently, it was prom night at the local schools. It was difficult to find a room last minute. We got there around 9 p.m., checked in and went to our room. Took the elevator down to our floor and noticed a bad smoke odor on a non smoking floor. Opened the door and the top of the refrigerator and microwave were dirty with dust and fingerprints. Very old, bland decor. Sat our stuff down, watched a little t.v., decided to take a shower and get in bed. The shower did not drain properly, and just looked dirty over all. Then when we were getting in the bed we pulled the sheets back to a used dirty bandaid at the foot of the bed, and the sheets were matted down as if they had been slept in already. So, down we went to the front desk, where we met another staff member, walking her dog in her pajamas that happened to be in front of us on the way there. We proceeded to tell the man about our problem to which he acted like it was no big deal. And threw the laundry room keys at the employee in p.j.'s so she could get us a new set of sheets. I followed her to the laundry room as she proceeded to say that my husband must just be tired and grumpy because this wasn't a big deal. I said it had been a long day, but this was gross, and a public health safety issue. She handed me the sheets, then she let me back into my room while my husband was still talking to the guy at the front counter. I proceeded to make the bed myself while I got a good view of all the dirt and hair still laying in the cracks between the bed and headboard. While we were at the front desk, he checked in 2 underage prom couples. He proclaimed that "you're just brother and sister, right?". The whole night there were very loud guests arguing in the hallway, children running, jumping and screaming until late in the night. I did not even eat breakfast because if the room is that filthy, what does the kitchen where they prepare food look like? When I left to check out, the cleaning crew was going through knocking on doors asking if people were done with their rooms. I noticed that the rooms that were empty and they went in only had the sheets removed. The mattress pad was left on the bed and the blankets were piled on the floor as if they were going to be put back on. I did not hear a vacuum the whole time I was there. I got to the front desk and handed the lady that gave me the sheets the night before my room key. She asked me if I heard loud kids last night running around on the floor above us. I said yes, I heard things all night. Then she stated that the way the situation was handled the night before was not right, and she was going to try to get my room refunded. She stated that the manager was not in the right shape to talk to us being that it was her birthday the night before, but she would talk to her when she got in that afternoon and call me. I have not heard a word.... Never stay here, horrible, nasty...

This is for BEST WESTERN, KIRKWOOD ST LOUIS MISSOURI, ROOM 114. This hotel has a very bad service. If only I could give less than 0 rating, I would do it. We checked in passed 10 pm last night. When we got to the room, there was a smell and both 2 queen beds have lots of hair, obviously it wasn't cleaned. It's unhygienic. I took video of it for evidence. I complained right away to the lady at the front desk, showed the video, I asked her if we can move to another room or have the linens replaced with clean ones. She told me to wait then she call her manager told him about my complain and my request. I don't know what the manager said, but she kept saying, "No! They just checked in, they just got here like 10 minutes ago. It's like the manager didn't believe her so she passed her phone to me and let me talk to her manager. I said the same thing i told the lady. He replied it's not that easy to change room they don't have people, it's late, but my husband, when he booked the hotel room, informed them we will be arriving late. So I told the manager, we will do it ourselves just give us clean blankets. He still insisted it's late no people can do it for us. I was really pissed he is not considerate to customers at all, and we were too tired. My husband just wanted to rest, he drove 15 hrs from Georgia. Having a hard time with traffic in Atlanta. So I told the manager, If you don't have people to accommodate your customers why don't you close your hotel, because I was really disappointed and got upset. You know what he said? He said, some people say bad things about their hotel because they just want a free room. Wooh! That's unacceptable. I can't believe he said that to me. He doesn't even know me. So I didn't argue anymore. I told the lady I cancel our booking. She said she doesn't know how to do it because it's only her 3rd day working, and just come back in the afternoon the manager will be in. so i said okay, and then we moved to Holiday Inn. This morning we went back to Best Western for a refund there's another lady on the front desk, we explained everything. She said sorry for what happened, the manager is not coming in today, then she handed as a number to call for complain. Yes, we will file a complain and do a disputed action...

Bad customer service and cleanliness. Not worth the money to stay, felt like a motel. Found a tic on the bed and a spider in the bath. The picture are sort of deceiving. The room is 3x cheaper looking than expected. When I went to check-in, the lady was immediately rude and told me no hotel will allow a 19-year old to check in. I told her I put in my dob when booking the room and that should have flagged it if that were true. She said that it’s in the policy that I signed and that it was my mistake. She didn’t even offer to help me figure something out, thinking that I wouldn’t even be able to stay anywhere. She didn’t even try to doublecheck the policy. I asked her if I would get a refund and she told me I’d have to contact a third party for that. I dragged all of my stuff back to my car, loaded it all back, then I went online and found that she was completely wrong. The age requirement was 18. I showed it to her and she hardly apologized. I had to go grab all my stuff, once again. Her little mistake almost wasted my trip, money, and time. It was 10:00pm, I was 3hrs away from home and had already paid for activities next morning. I almost drove the 3hrs back home, thank goodness I double checked. When I went to check out and there was a different lady, who was kind, only good experience of the hotel. Just double check these types of things and ask for the manager. Not sure if she just didn’t like me or thought I was suspicious or if she genuinely thought she was right. Either way, you can’t refuse service based off those things when I didn’t do anything to make her feel that way. And you should at least try to help your customers rather than be rude from start to finish and leave them to fend for themselves. Don’t let these 4star reviews fool you. There is an actual...
