Just stayed there. One night. Three kids one adult plus a small dog. Casey and Vince helped get us our room and both were very professional , kind and helpful. Employees are well dressed and first appearance is very clean! There is also a pizza place with games for kids next door.
Overall, I give it a full 5 stars. The pool was small but big enough and very nice. Warm. Nice hot tub. There was only one other person in there when we swam and we saw nobody else the entire rest of the time. We couldn't bring the dog in the pool area but we took turns. Animal rules are no dogs in pool area, breakfast food court area (but you can eat at tables with them) and no dogs in the gym. They must be on leash in pet allowed areas. You can't leave pets in the room. They also have a "doggy relief" area away from the property. As standard to all places that allow dogs, if your dog disrupts others, they can ask you to leave/charge you. They ask you to sign a waiver for an animal, and the rate when I went was $35 plus tax a night for an animal. 2 dog max. I'm not sure if the rate was per pet or per night.
The room was great. It was a bit echoey because of the tile/carpet style choice, so keep that in mind if with kids and animals. We were on the first floor next to the outside door because of our dog so possibly that is why it was a little louder? But the beds! Omg! So comfortable! And the room was very clean. Zero odor despite being a dog friendly room. Hallways look super clean. The whole place is very clean. Most hotels have uncomfortable beds. Here they do not! Most comfortable hotel bed experience ever! I turned on a little sound machine for sleeping to drown out the other sounds and we all slept very well.
The breakfast was exceptional! Pancakes and also omelets. Egg/cheese omelets and also veggie and egg white ones with turkey sausage along with regular sausage links and patty options. Full yogurt and cereal bar. Bunch of juices. Cinnamon rolls, bagels muffins, bread. And their coffee machine takes a few minutes because it grinds each cup and then brews it for you. I also saw a water fountain for filling up water bottles. lol. The kitchen did have a tip jar out, which I 100% support because it was a fantastic breakfast!
I highly recommend to all if staying in SLO area with a pet (especially Paso Robles or San Luis Obispo - easy drive to both) With kids, it is great for the value since it includes breakfast. I would say normal children (or a barky dog) might be a little noisey for the rooms since sound echos, but nobody complained with us and we had 3 kids plus one little...

Would definitely recommend. Thank you Vince (manager) for being so kind and understanding and helpful.
Previous post: My family and sister’s family stayed at this hotel for several nights for a wedding in the area. The night before we left there was a MASSIVE party going on in the room next to us (July 10th and we were rooms 227 and 228). There was over 15 people in the room and they were extremely loud the ENTIRE night. Not just like a little after curfew (10pm) but non stop. We called the front desk around midnight asking them to tell them to be quiet and the front desk did nothing. This group was drinking and cussing (some of them looked underaged too) and they did this in front of our 7 and 5 year old while we were leaving at 5am the next morning. We did not sleep that whole night and they continued their partying the entire night and even after we left at 5 in the morning. I went downstairs and told the front desk and again they did nothing. Not only is this reason enough for their one star review we also had issues with their key cards. All of our cards continued to deactivate and yes we kept them away from electronics so that wouldn’t be an issue. They deactivated when we arrived in the evening and also in the afternoon after swimming so we had to walk all the way around the hotel in our swimsuits to get it fixed. On top of this their breakfast was consistently depleted by 8am each morning. Their breakfast hours say until 9:30 but nothing was left by 8am for us and our kids to eat. No milk, cereal, bagels, pancakes, or even creamer for coffee. Our tv was also broken when we arrived but they did fix it while we were there so I’ll give them that. Also we were not able to digitally check in or check out which isn’t a big deal but don’t offer it if it isn’t...
Read moreThis was our first visit to the Paso Robles/ Atascadero area. Boy, were we glad we chose to stay at the Holiday Inn Express in Atascadero. It is very conveniently located for getting around to every where in the area like the wineries and breweries, and there are some things nearby that you will find out about if you ask the front desk, like the Atascadero Lake area with a zoo and little lake you can walk around. Speaking of the front desk -- wow! They are fabulous. So friendly and helpful and professional -- Nate and (I think his name is Dameon? but you will recognize him by his bow ties) were especially great, informative, helpful, friendly, and very smartly dressed. The room was a nice size and very, very clean -- cleaned daily! which is rare these days. The common areas and hallways, elevators, -- the whole hotel was always clean and that is not always the case I have found in other places. I was especially happy that not only was there a gym to use but it is open all the time -- unlike some places whose hours are so restricted they may as well not have a gym. My husband was especially thrilled with the excellent breakfast buffet. Such a variety of excellent choices, well prepared, very nicely presented, delicious and plenty of it at all times -- even if you happened to come last minute. We are people who don't particularly want "fancy" or "chi-chi" places and would rather spend our money on doing things and exploring but we did get burned a few trips always choosing the cheapest hotel we could find. Holiday Inn has proved more reasonably priced than many and always much nicer. This particular Holiday Inn, which I understand is owned by a family, was truly excellently managed and cared for. We highly recommend it and we...
