After checking the reviews of this spot and other nearby brunch spots, I had to choose this one. And yet, I was still blown away! I didn’t realize how lovely the outdoor seating was going to be—it was a lovely surprise. The service was also stellar. We’re visiting from out of town, so the servers were sweet about making us feel so welcome.

As many reviewers have raved, the pork chile verde is outstanding. I am so picky, too, about my scrambled eggs—often, they are overcooked, but here it’s the perfect texture (I’d say it comes out scrambled ā€œmediumā€). The balance of the flavors and textures was perfect; the tortilla chips were cut into strips, making this a really easy and unfussy dish to eat. Along with the salsa and the side of tortillas, this made me a really happy camper.

My significant other had the Western omelette (the omelettes, by the way, can be made into a scramble or skillet), and he was really happy with the ingredients and the dish overall. He especially loved his mimosa.

On our second visit in a week, we were just as pleased! There is a crab Benedict — you can order it as crab cake (which I did) or lump crab — and the hollandaise is unctuous and delicious (not a watered down version with fake butter). Just be sure to specify your yolk preference; because the crab cake was freshly pan fried, it cooked the yolk. But, the hollandaise was so delicious that it didn’t bother me. And, my partner was very happy with his French toast farm...

This is one of our favorite breakfast and lunch spots. My personal favorites are the breakfast quesadilla and the fried chicken salad. My husband’s favorite item is the mimosas.

The staff are always super friendly and fast moving. We place orders for pickup now and then and they’re always on top of it. They can get very busy so you may need to wait for a seat sometimes, but it’s just because they are a local favorite.

There is indoor seating but we love the back patio. There’s a large open ā€œbowlā€-type area, I’m not really sure what its purpose is, but my kids love running around in it. We also see people with their dogs back there pretty often. It’s nicely shaded and there is a large water fountain.

To get to the bathrooms, you have to go outside and up the stairs, or there is also an elevator. Make sure you read the code off the A-frame chalkboard...

My go-to brunch spot in Atascadero. A delightful staff with a delicious break burrito (sausage) has led me to become a regular. We dine here at least once a week, and the experience is incredible time and time again.

The outdoor experience is lovely, especially in the early morning. They accommodate pets, but tables are spaced well enough to create a buffer zone between tables, so that everyone is happy. A relaxing fountain cools down the area, and adds pleasant ambiance.

I recommend this restaurant to my family and friends, and chuckle when they say they were about to recommend it to me. It’s truly a beautiful establishment, and I’m grateful to have discovered it.

As I write this, I pause from reading a book and sipping on coffee, which the staff diligently refills whenever it dips in volume.

The Nest offers a truly wonderful...

The Nest was lovely. We had a light brunch around 10:30 on a Saturday, and three of us where seated in just a couple minutes once we'd all met up. The biscuits and gravy was delicious, not mind blowing, but tasty and the eggs where a perfect soft scramble. The sausage was out of the ordinary and had a great size, flavor, and denser texture than standard breakfast sausage links. The iced tea and coffee flowed and the moderate bustle of patrons and friendly staff gave it a nice vibe. The price was lower than expected for the quantity and quality too and in a place like Santa Barbara or LA the same food and service would have been +5 bucks on everything except the drinks. Go here and have some of your favorite breakfast foods and some good drinks!
