DO NOT STAY HERE!!!! On Aug. 5, 2019, My wife and I made a reservation at the Attica Inn, 74 N. Long Ave, Attica, IN 47918. For a 2 night stay on Oct. 25th & 26th, 2019. We made this reservation after reviewing the comments on Booking.com. Stating that the Attica Inn had “Clean and Comfortable Rooms”.|| We arrived at the Attica Inn on Friday, Oct 25, 2019 around 5:15pm est. Upon entering the Small lobby area, I could smell a “musty/moldy” odor. I asked to see our room before any payment was made, as I am Highly Allergic to Mold and the smell in the lobby was very concerning to me. Almost immediately we were told we had to pay our room reservation “Up Front”, before inspecting our room. I found that very odd, but was assured by the staff that what I was smelling was coming from the lobby, as it had recently rained in the area.|| After paying “Up Front” for our room, we were given 2 key cards to room 116. After going through the door that separates the lobby from the long corridor with rooms on both sides, the smell of Mold in the hallway intensified. Immediately upon entering room 116, a Very, Very Strong Smell of Mold was apparent to me. The Mold was so intense in room 116, that you could feel the moisture on your skin. As I am Highly Allergic to Mold, I immediately turned around and returned to the front desk. I explained to the man at the front desk about my allergy to mold. He escorted me back to room 116 to verify my complaint and said that “he could not smell any mold” and insisted that the room was just fine. I told him I could not stay in this room as it would make me Very Sick. The front desk clerk then offered to place us in a room across the hall from room 116. That room was just as Moldy smelling as the first room.|| At this point, I had to go outside to get some fresh air, as being exposed to that much mold was already causing me breathing issues. I told my wife to get a refund from the motel and that I would be waiting outside. After my wife spoke to a female (the manager) on the phone, the woman offered a 50% discount and asked for my wife’s phone number and said she would call the next day to work out an amount to be refunded. The woman never called my wife back. My thoughts immediately returned to the “Up Front” payment for our room. Very sketchy.|| This motel did not deliver a “Clean & Comfortable” room to us, as promised. We Did Not/Could Not stay at the Attica Inn due to their Very Bad Mold issues. In fact, even after a short exposure to the mold, I became sick with respiratory issues that lingered for almost 2 weeks.|| The motel charged us $181.88 for a room we did not & could not stay in. We are disputing these charges, as the motel did not provide us a “Clean & Comfortable” room as they promised. But were in fact, negligent to the health and well being of...

Read moreWe were assigned a room that was extremely musty. I walked in first and noticed it right away. I had a very hard time taking a breath. My wife came in with the kids a few minutes later and made the same comment I was thinking. My kids kept saying, "Why does it smell like that?" I walked back down to notify the counter clerk. He walked to the room and acted as if nothing was wrong. We had 2 other families we were traveling with and both of their rooms appeared to be fine. I asked for a new room, but was told they were sold out, even though they showed vacancy. I requested a refund and was prepared to drive back to Lafayette if I had to. I think he thought I was bluffing and began to refund my card. Low and behold, they "found" another room. Everything is outdated at this hotel and needs to be refreshed. There were other occupants that were hanging outside smoking marijuana. I didn't say something in fear of retaliation to my vehicle, but it is clear that the employees don't want to come out of...
