Sandcastle Beach Resort LLC — Hotel in Au Sable Township

This place was beautiful, the website doesn't do it justice. Check in was our only issue: we had two cabins (largest one and one of the others). We arrived early and they weren't ready and we were fine with that: no problem at all.

However the lady at check in made it seem like we were an absolute chore and was very visibly frustrated by us. We were confused but simply asked if there was a restroom we could use instead (3hr drive for a bunch of us) and this just put her off so much.

We didn't push the issue, let her do her thing, and simply waited for our cabins. How do you work in customer service and treat people like that? We were cordial and did nothing more than let her know we arrived and asked politely to use a restroom.

Other than that: excellent place, view, activities. Great for the kids and parents both. The place was clean and everyone there strived to keep it that way. Fun community feel, people joined us at the bonfires, we shared BBQ, and made some friends.

Will definitely consider this place again for...

I booked online and when I got to the hotel, price was almost $100 more. The front desk person was a liar. Said I would get my $50 deposit back as soon as the charge went through. Told me I talked to the manager, never was contacted nor seen her. Corporate take over off hotels produce liars. Waiting for my refund and still after being back home to hear back from the manager. My booking included taxes—very clear on my statement when I booked online, the front desk person said it didn’t. I had to point out to her that I’m very literate and showed her that it did. Multiple ppl complained about their room while I was there. Service was also trash. My phone kept ringing all hours of the night waking me up. I asked for extra towels. Five hours later, they came with extra towels. Service poor, not family-owned. Service degraded and prices appalling. Booking online is completely different pricing. They refuse to honor the price you book. They lay off employees to nickel and dime their profit. Do not stay here. Will never...

Sitting on the deck and watching Lake Huron never gets old! Our souls were calmed watching children playing, swimming, kayakers, families enjoying, and gulls flying. ||We spent three nights at this welcoming, wonderful resort. This would be |perfect for couples, families, seniors, Everyone. ||The property was clean and completely prepared for us. Easy entry. Exactly as pictured. A great restaurant in Oscoda is Taits. Great service and food. ||We lost our key (returned back to the resort to find the local supermarket called and it was turned in), ready to turn around and retrieve it, but the owner said he would go get it! Unheard of in all our travels , you just couldn't ask for a more friendly host. So accommodating. ||Highly recommend, we can't wait...
