Unfortunately, our stay at this motel in Oscoda was far below expectations. The room was not clean — the bed didn’t even have a fitted sheet, and the mattress underneath had visible stains. It really made us question how thoroughly the rooms are cleaned between guests. The beds are also extremely uncomfortable, you sink directly into the middle of them. The bathroom was in rough shape. There was a hole in the window that had been covered with a paper towel and a Band-Aid, and there was also a hole in the ceiling directly above the toilet, which felt pretty unsafe. This property has potential with the right care and updates, but in its current condition, I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Our stay at the scenic resort cabins during both Memorial Day and Labor Day weekends was nothing short of magical! Nestled amidst breathtaking natural beauty, the cabins offered a perfect blend of comfort and rustic charm. Each morning, we woke up to stunning views, and the peaceful surroundings provided a much-needed escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The owner is incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that our experience was seamless and enjoyable. With plenty of outdoor activities and cozy evenings by the fire, we left with cherished memories and a strong desire to return. Highly recommend this hidden gem for anyone looking to unwind in nature!

I think it was truly a very nice, thoughtful and considerate detail to leave a small packet of sauce, not just any sauce! But a packet of -zesty- sauce. Really felt welcoming and courteous to the overall stay to leave a side of zesty sauce in a packet for us as guests. We didnt end up using it, but it was nice knowing it was there and that the host was nice enough to have that as an amenity to the room.

Having come to Tawas for many years with our children camping my friend and I decided to do a quick overnight beach trip back. The kids are grown and we decided not to bring the camping gear -- we'd book a cabin or hotel room..... well, the cabin is in a row with others right on the lakeside, a plus compared to others, and an ok rating of 3 on trip advisor.... I reluctantly had to give it one star...... there is no AC,so I am glad it wasn't humid as our cottage was the last away from the lake breeze. It had been closed up so upon entering we opened the shabby broken blinds to raise the windows and air it out . There was a ceiling fan in the tv living area and a floor fan in bedroom area. The base was not attached to the fan it was just hanging ... we notified the gentleman who checked us in and he returned with a dusty box one. When we returned to wind down for the night, we discovered there was ONE washcloth and hand towel for the two of us to share, happily we each had our own bath towel. As the sheets were pulled back|In the bedroom long strands of both black and blond hair were between them. I was grossed out! The sheets appeared clean however but were polyester pilled so I hoped all night the hairs had been through the washer. The sleeper sofa was to be used by one of us. We moved the furniture to accommodate it opening. Upon looking for the sheets to put on it we discovered NONE!!! The bed had no blanket and two of the pillows had mismatched shams ... none of the linens included matched and ALL appeared to have come from goodwill donations.... not accommodating at all !!!! We could have roughed it at the campground a lot cheaper than we roughed it in this establishment and had clean blankets and towels we would have known to bring. Visit Hell, it is sure to...

Yes the rooms or at least our cabin was out dated but then again our purpose of just getting away for the weekend wasn't based on the cabin itself. Hearing the waves, smelling the fresh air, not being bothered and being so close to town was what our weekend away was all about. Yes the bed wasnt the most comfortable but it was still a place to lay out heads for the night. In my opinion this place was just a little slice of heaven. The rock wall did make it hard to get down to the beach but I know it's there bc Lake Huron comes up that far in the spring after the melt. The owner was VERY nice and to be in that line of work (dealing with strangers on the daily) is an honorable job in my eyes anyways. It does look rundown when you first pull up but it's a perfect example of "don't judge a book by its cover". We all get older and sometimes there's no help to be found so you make so as best as you can. We do plan on coming there and staying again. There was signs in his office saying "NO PETS ALLOWED" however, we had our doggie and he still allowed us to stay with no issues or extra fees. Thank you Scenic Resort for your...
