Way better than expected. Staff were friendly and helpful. Room was large, cozy and clean. It was very quiet at night even the location is right next to the quite busy road. Easy accessible parking. I can tell its dated but definitely well maintained. Breakfast was average, but they put all the bakeries in ziplocks so you can easily pack them and take out. The reasons I couldn’t give it a five stars were the clogging of the shower drain and the not quite comfortable bed. Which did not bother us too much for a one night stay. I’d say it’s fair to the cost.

I stayed here for the Pictured Rocks cruise, and the location was perfect. The bed felt a bit old, and the room had a slight smell. I also wish the hot tub water had been hotter. Breakfast didn’t have eggs or potatoes, but they did have waffles—which I like the most anyway—and coffee. For the reasonable price, it was just what I expected. The staff were very friendly, and check-in and check-out were smooth. For me, it was a quiet and pleasant stay overall!

This was our 1st time to Chrismas Michigan visiting from Wisconsin. The hotel staff were very kind and truly were a blessing. We stayed at the hotel a week, and the room was comfortable. The location was close to Munising and all of the excursions. The only negative was that the hottub was strong and left our room almost unbearable with chlorine smell. We will be back again someday. Thank you for making this a great experience! 👍

I'm leaving a one star review because zero is not an option unfortunately. I've waited to post this because I wanted to give White pines Lodge a chance to make things right. We stayed there a couple weeks ago for my wife and I's anniversary trip. We started off with showing up at 3:00 as our email confirmation said we could to check in and being told check-in wasn't until 4:00. Okay whatever we'll come back at 4:00 so we went and wasted an hour and came back. about a half hour after we checked in some friends of ours also showed up who were there for the weekend. And the water went out in the hotel. So what down and talked to someone at the desk and she was very nice I will say. She told me that they already had maintenance on site and it would be handled as soon as they could. Understandable as things do happen. So we went off and did some stuff went to supper that kind of thing. We came back and it still was not fixed. This time the manager I'm guessing is who was there and she was very short and very rude with everyone. I know she was having a bad day but so were we. She told me someone had just gotten on site to take care of the problem. I said that's what I was told 3 hours ago and she argued with me. She did later say that I plumber was now on site and had been for over half an hour. So again they didn't just get there. We were told we could go to the casino next door if we needed to use the restroom. Otherwise they would bring buckets of water from the hot tub up to use a flush our toilets. Never mind washing hands or showering or anything of the sort. Or the fact there were no sprinklers in case there was a fire. The next morning we got up early to have breakfast before we headed off to our fishing trip. We were told that someone was bringing in coffee from home and that they were not able to make waffle better cuz they still had no water. We went fishing all day came back to find out that we still had no water. They said it needed a pump or a part for their pump and that it was in fond du lac Wisconsin. Now that was 4 hours away. Not a big deal if you want to get a hotel up and running I would think. So it was already like 7:00 at night finding a new room especially one with handicap accessible that guy needed would have been pretty much impossible. So we stayed and then got out of there very early in the morning so we could get home to some water and a shower. I still can't believe this but they refunded one of our two nights but not the other. I have sent multiple emails with no response and that is why I am posting this review now. Haven't given them plenty of opportunity to correct the situation. Again the staff themselves you could tell we're just as frustrated but the lady who was in charge was absolutely rude and poor representative of the hospitality business. It is really a shame that she did not handle this situation better and that nobody has given us a response to our emails. I have friends who also stayed and have gotten the same lack of response to emails...

Stay far far away from this place. I'm certain they are in some violation of health code here. Our family of 4 stayed here on a tuesday night the first week in August. Bad time to be in the area. We were tent camping, and a storm was rolling in. So we needed a safe place to stay with our two kids. This was the only hotel left that wasnt fully booked for the night. Had this not been the case, I would have turned right around the second we walked through our rooms door. The odor took your breath away. And our kids were sick to their stomachs. We left the room immediately to go to dinner, hoping the room would air out with the fan on, window open, and bath fan running. Didnt work at all. The smell is of old cigarettes that they tried to cover up with some chemical. Indeed the smell is coming from the extremely old carpets, beds, and furniture that appear to have not been replaced in over 30 years since the time it was okay to smoke everywhere. The smell was so bad, our clothes reeked of the room a week after when we got home after camping in fresh air the rest of the week. My whole family was sick for days after as well. The fan and AC kept turning off all night. Wouldnt stay on and was extremely hot in the room. Things falling apart. Carpets visibly dirty. Was afraid to sleep. Horrible service at the front desk. Didnt even acknowledge me at checkout time so I dropped our keys on the desk and walked out. Never have I had such a horrible hotel experience. And at $200 for this room in a Tuesday night, they are legitimately stealing money from people. This place needs to...

Our family stayed here about 3 1/2 weeks ago.Although the staff seemed nice the small amount that we dealt with them, our room was not clean at all. It very obviously had been used and not cleaned before us. The bed had the throw pillows put in 2 areas in the room and the two bed pillows had shoulder indents on them, the bedspread was not pulled up and tight fresh looking it was pulled loose and down about a foot or so like it had been throw back together, the shower had a used bottle of shampoo in it (it was clearly the missing toiletry on the sink as there was no shampoo only a little lotion there) and hair in the bottom of thr shower. The garbage can had some kind of red gross substance in it,honestly looked like a loogie. We would have left or asked for another room but we were told it was the last one and that there were no other rooms at any hotels for a very, very long time. It was already 2AM by the time we checked in and we had very young little ones with us so we had no choice but to turn a blind eye at the moment. We could not safely continue driving the distance we were told it would be to another hotel with how fatigued we were. Now that we are home and settled and from our two week travels we cannot ignore our bad experience. Out of all the hotels we stayed in on our travels even ones that cost less this one was the dirtiest and most disapointing. We didn't think it would be at it's $119 price tag. Very disapointed...P.S I also posted this review on their website which they never posted it. It appears they are only posting positive reviews and deleting the negative ones....
