TL;DR - My room was clean, the doors locked, the AC worked, water pressure was good, and the TV had many channels to choose from. Food was good, staff was pleasant. If you just need a safe place to sleep, that offers breakfast in the morning, this is an affordable option. I am not disappointed.
If you're looking for a hotel with a bar, a spa, and someone to turn down your bed at night and tell you that you're the best guest ever... Move along, this place isn't what you're looking for.
An older hotel being upgraded. Obvious care is going into giving this place new life. This hotel has been around for a while, and as things do with age, wear and tear are evident.
I stayed for three nights, and never had any issues or concerns about my safety.
Even though they were painting rooms, possibly even laying carpet, not once were any of the workers or equipment in the direct path a guest would travel. This includes the prime spots in the parking lot everyone wants. I also work nights so I was in the hotel sleeping during the day and didn't hear any worker noises. I know I was on the same floor too because I shared the elevator with a paint covered lady. The only loud noise was other guests just letting doors slam, but that's on the guest not the hotel. So don't do that if you stay anywhere. We close doors quietly because we want others to do the same for us.
Breakfast every morning offering bagels, toast, muffins, pancakes, cold cereal, oatmeal, eggs, potato's, sausage, yogurt, juice & coffee. The pancake machine seems to confuse many people. I will help by saying there is a button you press that says "push here to make pancake" and an arrow. It's also the only button. Put a plate to the right, or your pancake will flop onto the counter. It is a deeply satisfying flop sound if the pancake falls just right. Please clean up your counter pancake if you forgot the plate.
Pool. I saw the pool, I didn't use the pool. It's a small pool. That's all I can say about the pool.
Denny's and a truck stop/gas station across Airport road. Best breakfast burrito place super close east on Colfax. Frontier Club a little further east for a great margarita at a dive bar. Don't drink and drive, take a Lyft.
Hotel is in an industrial area, DIAs train runs right "over" the hotel. UPS is next door, vehicle storage or giant gated parking lot across another street. You're not staying here for the views. However VERY close to DIA, oddly enough without the airplane noise. Again, I was extremely impressed with how quiet it was. If you want views the TV has National Geographic in HD. Turn that on and pretend it's a window.
Literally the only complaint I have is the website says the late, late checkout is 3pm. I added this to my online reservation, got the verification, it was restated upon arrival, and at noon I got a wake up call asking if I was checking out. I let them know I had selected the late, late checkout of 3pm and I was told they don't do 3pm but 2pm. I work the night shift so this was a tad inconvenient but nothing I'm going to have a fit about. It's an hour difference, not ten. I only state this for anyone else getting the late, late checkout. It's 2pm. Plan accordingly so you have time to shower before you leave, and make double extra certain your reservation shows this or the regular "you're late" checkout phone call will scare the bajebus out of you. I'm sorry to the front desk lady, I sounded like a zombie.
If I had to, I would choose to stay here again. I slept so well and that doesn't even happen at home. Thank you for being an affordable hotel, close to work, when the owner of the place I am staying decided to redo all the floors only on the days I work so I couldn't just crash at a...
Read moreI booked at the Sylo Ramada because: the reasonable price, we needed just 1 night, it was late and my traveling kids were exhausted, it was close to I-70, and it is pet friendly. I read the other reviews (yikes) and decided to give it the benefit of the doubt because I thought it can't be THAT bad. sigh. I want to be clear that the staff was professional and polite. Very attentive to my questions and needs. I applaud them for their service. This place has gone through an ownership transition. It seems to be a former Red Lion Inn (still has signage), has since been bought out by Ramada, which is owned by parent company Wyndham. So I must ask, WHO is now in charge here? Have they ever been here? This place has been failed and neglected by its parent companies. My observation is that a half-arse renovation happened that updated the entry/dining area/hallways, and into the bathroom/vanity of the guest rooms. That is as far as they got. Once you step more than 5 feet into your guest room, you are on old carpet that has sticky-gunk stains. The furniture is bulky, dated, and one of our drawers had the facing broken off of it. It does not stink or smell like smoke, thankfully. Some power outlets would not hold plugged cords in, they just fell out. The curtains were gross. Stained with watermarks and mildew. After touching the curtains I'd go wash my hands. I worried we were breathing mold spores. The bedding on one of the beds was torn and had some black stains or burn marks on it. The roll-away bed was a 4" spring mattress, emphasis on SPRINGS. You could feel every individual spring. There was no padding to this mattress. Any reputable lodging company would be embarrassed to call this a bed and offer this to their guests. It came with a very old and stained king size polyester blanket, my 13yo son folded it in half and laid it on top to pad the springs. He did not sleep well on it. In the bathroom, some spots on the wall appeared to be feces or dried menstrual blood splatter, and there appeared to be some actual yellow droplets of urine on the tank on the toilet when we got there. The toilet seat has not recently been removed and cleaned at the hinges, as there was dried urine around the grommets. The toilet had issues filling and ran half the night. The shower/bathtub was very clean and worked well. The bed pillows were very small. They are square, the size of a decorative couch pillow. This hotel decided to save money by providing their guests mini-pillows on their beds? Weird. The queen beds themselves were clean and comfortable. Nice TV but we didn't use it much because we were there only from 11pm to 7am. The free breakfast was nice. Fresh cooked pancakes, hard boiled eggs, fruit, bagels, and ceral. This hotel will do in a pinch of desperation, which we were. I hope they plan to fix it up more, and do it correctly. Because the location is great, and their employees are friendly and deserve to be the face of a respectable establishment. They do take a $100 security deposit in addition to your room fee because they've experienced past "issues with people", which I expect returned because we left the room cleaner than we found it (I had to disinfect their toilet!). I really hate leaving unfavorable reviews, especially when the employees themselves are really good. But until they correct these issues, I would not advise staying here unless you don't have other viable options...
Read moreLegitimate review here. I travel both locally and internationally very frequently and I have to be honest that this hotel is excellent!
First of all, the rooms are newly remodeled and refurbished, with excellent shower amenities provided. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and the rooms are decently sized, offering plenty of space to store your belongings and huge luggage. They also have a storage room where you can keep your bags if you prefer not to carry them with you.
Secondly, the staffs were outstanding. They were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and attentive. If you let them know what you need, they will do their best to accommodate your requests. You’ll receive service comparable to a 4-5 star hotel and I’m being genuine on this. Special thanks to Basit Khan, the manager, Regina, Kamal, and the other staff members for making guests feel like at home.
The shuttle service is very reliable and convenient, running every hour on the hour. Not only can they take you to the airport, but they can also drive you to nearby train stations or other places of interest, such as restaurants, grocery stores, and gas stations, upon request. The driver, Edward, deserves a raise. He’s not only efficient but also very entertaining.
Breakfast is another highlight. Let me tell you, the standout item is the potato wedges. They’re perfectly seasoned, crunchy, and hands down the best breakfast potatoes I’ve ever had at any hotel, even compared to 4-5 star establishments like Marriott Bonvoy, IHG, Peninsula, Hyatt, and Mandarin Oriental. The breakfast includes 4 hot options: omelets or scrambled eggs, sausages or bacon, a pancake machine similar to those found in Holiday Inn Express hotels, and, of course, those fantastic potato wedges. There are also cereals, yogurt, bread, pastries, and fruits provided.
Overall, considering that this is a 2-3 star hotel, they did an amazing job. It’s an excellent choice for all travelers and is very budget-friendly. I don’t understand the negative reviews and I think there shouldn’t be any reason for bad reviews because I have no idea what possibly could go wrong or sideways for this hotel. I have stayed here very frequently when I’m in Denver, and the hotel has consistently met high standards in terms of room quality, service, shuttle service, hotel facilities, and breakfast. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve stayed at other hotels in different cities with Marriott Bonvoy to maintain my Titanium status, but not in Denver. Whenever I’m in Denver, I always choose this place because it just feels like home.
100% highly recommend this hotel to everyone! If you guys have any questions about my experience at this hotel, feel free...
