I will start by saying that Tess at the front desk is a delight, worked hard to make things right and really did want us to have a good stay. Whatever she is making, she deserves a raise. Moving on, when we arrived at our double queen bed room there were wads of hair and visible dirt on the bathroom floor, the mirror hadn't been cleaned, there were pine needles and dirt on the carpet. I went to the front desk and they moved us upstairs. Same deal except no hair balls in the bathroom. Carpet had obviously not been vacuumed, dirty mirror, dirt on the tile. Tess was very apologetic and moved us to a king suite in the building where you can see the ocean. We loaded up our stuff in the car and moved to that building. The carpet in front of the couch was covered in large crumbs and colored pieces of I don't even know what. The mattress of the pull out couch was covered in stains, no mattress pad. Tess called to see how things were and I told her. We'd driven 4 hours and were all exhausted, no energy to find somewhere else or move rooms yet again. She did give me a substantial discount on the room, came to have me sign new paperwork for the new room and new nightly rate, saw the carpet and mattress for herself, brought fresh bedding warm from the dryer and offered to personally vacuum the room, but we just wanted to find food and go to bed so I declined. She said someone would come when we were out the next day to clean, which did not happen. When I saw her in the lobby she asked if the room had been cleaned while we were out. When I told her no she was not pleased, was very apologetic, said it is not usually like this and asked for us to try them in the future. Swimming pool and spa area was clean but the walls have obvious water damage and are bubbling with some areas completely crumbled with big holes. Breakfast is consistent with other Best Westerns I've stayed at, so satisfactory and nice to have. Bed was comfortable, however it is very overpriced. $370/night for the king suite. In Bandon. I paid $440/night for a newly remodeled king bed condo with a full kitchen right on the beach at a resort with BBQ area and lots of other amenities on Maui earlier this month. I think they need to be realistic about what they are offering and the location. If it weren't for Tess I would not consider staying here again and would definitely never pay full price for the suite. Location is good for seeing local sights. Beach access is close.

If anyone has earned the right to review a hotel, it’s me — because I lived at the Best Western Face Rock in Bandon for 132 days straight. That’s right, four and a half months. Long enough to know which housekeeping cart rattles the loudest, which breakfast items rotate, and which dogs bark in which rooms (mine included). Our home was being repaired after a water main break, and in the middle of all this chaos I also had major surgery. So imagine recovering from that — in a hotel. And you know what? It was honestly the best possible place to land. The hotel is spotless and well-kept. The breakfast? Let’s just say I now consider biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, pancakes, waffles, muffins, yogurt, coffee, tea, and toast all major food groups. The staff? Angels in uniforms. Every single one of them is friendly, but housekeeping deserves an Olympic medal for kindness. Major shout-out to Liz, the housekeeping manager. She’s one of those rare people who makes your whole day brighter just by showing up. She even helped us when our dogs got skunked (because yes, pro tip: skunks live here too — it’s their turf, not the hotel’s). Other perks: huge TVs, larger-than-normal fridges (you’ll thank me if you’re staying more than two nights), private beach access that feels magical, and surprisingly solid Wi-Fi for a coastal town. There’s no AC, but you don’t need it — the ocean breeze does all the work. After 132 consecutive days, I can confidently say this is the best dog-friendly hotel experience I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for a clean, comfortable, genuinely welcoming spot in Bandon, don’t overthink it. This is the place. And if you see Liz — tell her the long-term guest with the skunked dogs, Moose and Dean, says hi.

We decided to stay here because we planned our Bandon Dunes golf trip last minute. We had suites that has kitchen, dining area, fireplace (which was useful during one rainy day), tv area and patio that faces the ocean. Thought it is quite nice and all we need. The daily breakfast is pretty much the same but it has a lot of variety to choose from. Yogurt to cereal, to gravy and biscuit, to sausage, waffle, pancakes (love that apple-cinnamon pancake!). Very near to Face Rock Park. Lots of dining options in the area. Not very far from Bandon Dunes and Old Town. If we are going back to play golf, we will definitely stay here again and get a suite. The bathroom in the bedroom does not have heat, unlike the bathroom on the tv area that has its own heater. The bedroom bathroom is so cold, feels like freezing that we couldn’t use it at all even for potty. That is one of the cons. Another con is if you opt to have a restful stay or if you are staying longer, request to be upstairs. We stayed here long enough to know how loud the people upstairs can get. Different guests every night, different noise from footsteps to kids crying and you think the hotel know better to put those that stay long above those short stay.

With the fresh remodeling you would think this hotel would satisfy all your wants and needs. Unfortunately, if a good nights rest is what you seek, look elsewhere. Despite the pretty new upgrades the hotel’s remodeling has left the sound proofing less than to be desired. Hearing your neighbors every last movement, heater turn on, bath run, drawers and doors opening and closing, conversations… etc is what you get. Sadly losing all privacy in each of the rooms and ending up with a restless night sleep was the last thing I expected with a $200 probe tag per night in the off season.

If you bring your pets do note that they are “strict” about their pet policies. Yet it doesn’t apply to everyone. We found that people were walking the premise with no leashes and leaving their animals outside with no supervision, despite said “pet policies”.

Let’s talk about the amenities. The pool is not terribly deep, and is also incorrectly labeled for its depth at the far end, so be sure to watch your kids closely! It is also extremely cold, to the point that my mother, who is normally an early morning swimmer and doesn’t usually mind the cold, refused to go back in. The spa was moderately warm but severely stained and in desperate need of updating as the jet’s did not have much of any pressure. The heater in the spa turned on briefly but did not last terribly long. We left after a half an hour as all the windows were open and with the ice cold pool and temperatures outside dripping back down into the 30s it wasn’t much fun for my 1 & 3 year old children.

On the phone while making the reservation we were promised views of the ocean, unfortunately this is only the case in a small selection of rooms so be cautious of the front desk clerks stories to sell that “last room”. Ours was absolutely no where near these select rooms, despite the promise of these views.

Pros: the breakfast was definitely one of the better ones we have experienced. Food was fresh, there were two attendants maintaining the breakfast and there was a great variety available for the whole family.

Also, there is private beach access, but it does not lead you directly to face rock. In fact, face rock is another half a mile down the road. But the beach is still quite nice.

When I brought up my concerns to the desk clerk I was met with an apology and an eagerness to get me out the door. She had no intention to rectify the situation, which is why I have come to leave my review here. I do not leave reviews… ever. I do not waste my time, but don’t want you to waste yours or your hard earned money on this over priced dump where you will likely not get any rest. They are likely trying to recon some of the expenses they’ve dished out on the terrible construction recently done which is probably why we paid over $200 for one night in the off...

The NW has had a cold February and March this year. Nobody thought snow would come the last week of February but it did. The unit I stayed in was nice. It was apartment like and the clientele which come do so for the Ocean. You’re not on the beach, but I could see a slice of strand. I was there to sleep and relax a little and work. So, I’ll touch on the bad first. I will say that there was nothing that would stop me from staying here or a similar type of property in the future. I deal with facilities and I’m likely more tuned to have a critical eye with buildings. There was no work desk in the unit. There was a glass table and 2 chairs. If staying and working, some of the time, you’d have to make a choice if you’re going to use the table for food or work. The 2 small wall heaters couldn’t keep up with the freezing weather outside. Without using the oven, I couldn’t get the unit above 66 degrees. 98% of the time the heating would be just fine. I was able to run the hot water out. Internet was very good. Didn’t have to be an elite level customer. Overall the unit and property nice enough to warrant 4 stars. Don’t worry about heat because it’s more than adaquate except in very rare weather. The 2 flat screens were nice and were mounted creatively. It had a fireplace and they supplied the first duraflame log. There wasn’t much in the way of silverware in the Kitchenette. There were some pots and pans but nothing to write home about. If coming for a week or 2, l would pack some personal cookware, flatware, knives... I’d check to see if they had an additional small table. Bed was very comfortable. The night stand had lots of electrical receptacles and USB ports. Many of the units in the building I was in had steps. I was unable to roll my cart to the door. Mobility impaired would need to make sure they reserve a unit with s flat entry. I could have easily stayed several days or more here. My accommodation the next night made this Best Western luxurious in comparison. BW at Face Tock has some nice qualities like being on a very quiet road on 7 acres of lawns and gardens to wander. Across the street from the Pacific. Pool and spa looked nice. Lobby looked nice. I did go and eat at one of the front desks recommendation, Edgewaters....
