Being a Hyatt member and loving all things Hyatt I recieved an advertisement for this brand new hotel. My wife and I decided to take a weekend in Houston and try this place out. This review is unlike anyother one I've ever written because Hyatt is great. This location is over a half hour outside of Houston which makes it inconvenient for getting back and forth. The drive in and out of Houston is an interesting one because for 90% of the drive all you see of oil refineries, that's a lot of ugly to and from. The hotel is clearly set up for conventions and nothing else as there is no beach access and the town of Baytown has very limited retail shopping from what we saw and only fast food restaurants. The hotel is set up nicely and the 24 hour "pantry" is a very nice touch. The beds are super comfortable and the bathrooms are very nice but we were confused by the window. Out of the entire wall that could've displayed a huge window, they installed a window that is about 4ft wide, why? The restaurant only has 3 entree options to date, so if you aren't a fan of what they offer, there are sides and salads you can enjoy. We had some drinks at the bar and even that was an experience. They didn't have multiple ingredients for the drinks they offer. My wife ordered a drink off their menu and was told they didn't have mint, she ordered another and they were out of a liquor. I ordered their specialty Old Fashion but the didn't have the Bitters the drink is named after. Here's the kicker, I ordered a traditional old fashioned and the bartender (right after making it), right in front of me, put a cocktail straw in it, tasted it and said "ok, that's good" . What? Do you not have the confidence to make one of the most well known drinks in the world that you have to sample it , let alone a foot away from me? Ohh and I couldn't even taste the bourbon. Vegas drink prices with no alcohol, that's a choice. The staff is super friendly and the manager is outstanding, I hope Hyatt supports them as well as they are...

Excellent Stay at Hyatt Baytown for Anniversary Event!

My husband and I recently chose the Hyatt in Baytown as our accommodation while we were in the area for a private dining event celebrating our anniversary, and we couldn't have been more delighted with our stay.

From the moment of booking, we received consistently great communication from management, which immediately set a positive tone. We also felt the price for a king room on a weekend night was very reasonable for the quality we received.

Our stay was absolutely lovely, and our only regret is that we didn't book for more than one night! Everything was impeccably clean, from the soft, high-quality towels to the comfortable bedding – true luxury. The rooms themselves were exceptionally well-designed, with thoughtful lighting selections and convenient charging areas that made our stay even more comfortable.

We enjoyed lunch at the hotel restaurant, and the food and service were truly top-notch. I wish I could remember our waitress's name; she mentioned she had just completed training. Despite us arriving right at the very end of the lunch menu, she showed absolutely no sign of annoyance. In fact, she took the time to walk us through the breakfast menu and enthusiastically shared her favorite items – a wonderful touch that truly enhanced our experience.

Later, we stopped by the market and were pleasantly surprised to discover that the much-talked-about Dubai chocolate is actually made in-house by one of their incredibly talented chefs!

To top off an already perfect stay, we received a delightful surprise anniversary gift in our room: a beautiful, handwritten card accompanied by delicious chocolate-covered strawberries. This personal touch was truly special and and made our celebration even more memorable.

We thoroughly loved our time at the Hyatt Baytown and look forward to staying again very soon....

Date of Stay: June 28, 2025

I felt compelled to share my experience during my recent stay at Hyatt Regency which was unfortunately marred by what can only be described as horrendous customer service.

On June 28th, I witnessed a distressing incident that speaks volumes about the treatment certain guests receive based on the color of their skin. A fellow guest, who was visibly affected by the unfair treatment, approached the front desk for assistance. Instead of receiving a warm welcome and the help she needed, she was met with appalling indifference and a dismissive attitude from staff members. The lack of empathy and professionalism was shocking, especially in a hospitality setting that should prioritize kindness and inclusivity.

As an establishment that claims to cater to diverse clientele, such behavior is unacceptable and damaging. It reflects poorly not only on the individuals involved but also on the hotel's reputation as a whole. It’s disheartening to think that in 2025 such prejudices still permeate spaces that should be promoting diversity and acceptance.

I urge management to seriously reflect on this incident and take immediate actions to address these issues. Proper training on cultural sensitivity and customer service should be mandatory to ensure that all guests feel respected and valued, regardless of their background.

In an era where inclusivity is paramount, I expected better from from the older lady at the front desk I sincerely hope that no other guests have to endure such an unwelcoming environment in the future.

For those considering a stay here, keep this in mind—hospitality should be about all guests feeling at home, not just...

The hotel is surrounded by water - I can imagine all of the rooms have great views. The rooms were beautiful with so much fun lighting! Automatic night lights under the beds and the bathroom cabinets. Nightlights that folded into the headboard. The clocks had USB plugs and USB-C plugs - so convenient! The mirror in the bathroom was heated and had a clock embedded in the mirror! The bed was comfortable and the couch was fun to sit on. We had a marina room - we really enjoyed the view of the marina, bridge and the sunset was gorgeous! A friend stayed on the other side and had great views of the water as well. It was handy to be able to text the front desk if we needed anything - great service during our entire stay! There were multiple indoor seating areas and outdoor as well! Really enjoyed sitting on the back porch and watching the water and ships coming in and out. There's a restaurant within walking distance, as well as the bar, a well stocked market, and the Anchor & Hearth hotel restaurant. We went to the hotel restaurant for breakfast - it was delicious and the service was excellent as well! The pool and hot tub area was great - plenty of seating and umbrellas. The workout facilities had weights, a rowing machine, and more. There were multiple water bottle fillers as well as lemon and regular water dispensers in the lobby! Everyone was very helpful! They let us know they treated for mosquitos recently and we didn't see any - we spent hours outside. It was a wonderful stay! It also looks like there is a park walking distance away. It seems a lot of people go fishing there. Kemah was 15 minutes away!

Disappointed. Have stayed here twice. Hotel is new. Location is poor and isolated. It’s adjacent to a small convention building and local restaurant that is only open on certain days. Staff is nice and accommodating during daytime hours. Staff is very light at night and seemed overwhelmed and didn’t want to be there. Check in was slow and awkward. Walls in rooms are VERY thin. Could hear other guests going to the toilet, coughing , TV all night. Food at the hotel restaurant and bar is not impressive and overpriced. $68 for a steak, $20 for a hamburger, etc. Only saw one couple eating in the restaurant the two times I was there. This hotel is next to an old abandoned oil field, marina, very large bridge, and multiple oil and gas businesses, so, you will not find nearby shopping or restaurants. Closest chain restaurants are a 20-30 minute drive away. Would not recommend for families traveling with children. Be sure to bring what you’ll need while you’re there or be prepared to pay inflated prices on everything.

This should be Baytown's best hotel.Located right on the water you can see ships coming and going via the Houston water channel. You are immediately wowed by the open and inviting lobby with a not so assuming check in desk. The decor itself will have you spending hours taking pictures by differrent pieces of furniture and hanging pictures. There is an awesome inhouse restaurant with a huge convenient store packed with so many food choices. To the back of the hotel lobbyl is a bar backed by large windows that expose the expansive view of the Bayou. This is one of the most romantic views⁹ fit for numerous pictures while you have bites and drinks.Kinda takes you to a different time and place. There is a marina with a great bar and restaurant adjacent to the hotel.Views galore and the pricing of food here is unbelievably affordable. The staff were very friendly and caring. I could go on but it would not do the hotel justice..Take time to visit this hotel and see for yourself!
