If you're looking for pure simplicity The Lodge at Cliffview Resort is a hidden gem. This place is loaded with charm. Rooms are simple and a little ill conceived but are clean and well kept. Harvey staffed the lobby morning and afternoon and is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. He puts out a variety of quick breakfast fare and a never ending supply of hot morning coffee beginning at 7 AM. If you want to take it to the next level there's a fully appointed kitchen along with a gas grill and flat top on the porch just outside you're welcome to use. We hiked the area each day and enjoyed unwinding on the porch swing outside our slider with a cocktail while the sunset each night. Will be returning for sure!

Beautiful place for a quick getaway from the city! The rooms are spacey with a gorgeous view of the gorge from a cliff side. My first experience with Cliffside Resort was on a retreat with SWE from the University of Kentucky. Once a year, this club rents out the entire resort for two days to host over 50 members on a networking retreat. Nothing beats the view from the second floor balcony! I am glad that I was introduced to this gem, I will definitely be bringing some friends down here over the summer to relax.

We stayed at Lakeside Retreat Cabin and it was absolutely AMAZING! The place was spotless, super clean and beautiful, with amazing views. Close to wonderful hiking trails, zip-lining, and rock climbing. For a get away, family reunion, or work retreat - hands down this place can't be beat.

Went here for our 5 Year Anniversary.|||| What to make sure we lay everything out so you can make your own decision. Will start with a list and Explain.||||1) Heating Issue/ responsive staff - When we arrive the cabin was at 59 Degrees, turned on the heat while we unloaded the car and after an hour there was no change in temp so we called and they sent out maintenance. Responded quickly within 15 minutes. Turned out the unit was turned off outside. However, still took 2 days for the cabin to get to 70.||||2) Cleanliness|| - We were unable to walk around without shoes because feet would turn black from the floor.||- Light switches had yellow run marks down them||- Toilet Paper rolls had yellow run marks down behind it||- Shower also had yellow runs around the whole top||- Moved couch to grad something dropped and when we moved we found open chip bag, Beer can, and water bottles (No from Us)||- Hot Tub (We didn't use it) Could not smell chlorine in it and to us, it didn't smell right so we didn't want to change it.||- Grill - Head melted cheese melted on it from former use.||||3) Cabin Issues||- Doors - unable to close doors without slamming them (rubbing frame)||- Blinds - Able to close and Open but had spots where holes were broken in them||- Toilet Seats - They were old wood seats and they were in rough shape with the white cover missing with exposed wood||- Mattress - Wore Out, when you laid on them they creaked and cracked. ||- Gated resort - Gate was broken and laying on the ground. ||- Exhaust fan in the bathroom sounded like a screeching eagle||||4) Cabin Positives||- Location was nice back off the road and private.||- Location to trails was great (10-30 minutes drive depending on trail)||- Appliances inside of the cabin was nice and worked well||- Great Views||- Cabin had beautiful wood floors and wood plank walls and ceilings||- Great deck with seating||- Using coordinates provided GPS (Waze) took directly to cabin without Issues ||||Overall it was not a great experience for us. We ended up leaving a day early because didn't see a need to stay in a place that was dirty and that we could not get a good night's...

My family and I stayed at the Gorge-Us Getaway cabin located at Cliffview Resort from 12/23/2021 - 12/28/2021. We were disappointed in the condition of the cabin. The overall appearance of the cabin was unkept. There was trash under the deck outside and the grill was a mess. The interior was dusty and there was a bottle cap lying underneath the TV stand. The kitchen area was not very clean. There was garbage (egg shells and such) wedged between the refrigerator and the counter. The appliances were heavily soiled with grease and other splattered debris. The refrigerator leaked on the inside and into the floor. Many of our food items were saturated with water. The front right burner on the gas stove did not function properly and gas would continue to escape when it was in the off position. It took some manipulation to get it to stop. We were expecting the kitchen to be stocked with the supplies needed to cook meals. There were 2 small sauce pans and the non-stick coating was peeling from both. There were no frying pans; however, there was a griddle. The baking pans were not in good condition. The cooking utensils were not clean nor in good condition. Thank goodness we brought a few items of our own. All of the dinning table chairs were coming apart at the top and not very sturdy. My husband and I used the queen bed with the adjoined bathroom. Our vanity faucet sprayed in every direction and it was nearly impossible to use without getting your clothes wet. There was no heat vent in that bathroom. The mattresses were covered with plastic and we discovered why. The morning we were leaving we found a bedbug in the regular bed. I am a nurse practitioner and I know what they look like. Luckily none of us received any bites. The trip was not all bad. The location of the cabin is serene and I imagine that it is beautiful in the summer and fall. The hot tub seemed clean and sanitary. It was relaxing. OK location for a get-a-way, but I would choose a different cabin. The one we chose was not...

15 of us were on a writing retreat with a guest speaker. Beautiful and spacious, however, we found the space to have some limitations we will consider in the future. The hot tubs should be called lukewarm tubs because they were tepid at best. The futons in the rooms were uncomfortable and small. And some places were dirty (in the window by the back deck we found dozens of flies.) No way someone cleaned and missed that. There is no water source outside of sinks. Huge beautiful refrigerators without water source. I’d caution folks to bring their own jugs of drinking water for their stay. The tap water quality reports are meh…not bad but not good. Definitely fine to bath and wash dishes but drinking? I’m not so sure. Great having a washer and dryer downstairs. The staff is nice but there were some things they could do to better prepare folks. Their phone number on one of their printed directions papers is incorrect. They provided us with a key code that did not work. All of the rooms lock when they are closed so you will need a key code even to get into your individual room. The oven takes a long time to heat up. Be sure to allow for extra prep time just to get the stove hot. There was a lot of emphasis on staying quiet or police would be called in the literature, and we learned why. If you sit in the hot tubs or fire pit in groups in the evening, voices carry across the puddle (no way this is a lake) and can seem deafening. We kept quiet but something to tell your guests ahead of time. Overall, we would return but will keep in mind the limitations of the "hot" tubs and the fact that the futons are uncomfortable. We will likely bring inflatable beds for those who can't do the futons. Internet connection was great. Plenty of glasses, coffee cups, plates, silverware etc. Nothing plastic so those traveling with kids should bring their own. Pots and pans were fine but I’m glad I brought my own cast iron skillet and...
