In advance I booked the 2 bdrm cottage for our extended family of 5 for a few nights in the middle of our "workcation" as a way to shower and relax by the pool after doing work on our new home nearby. Plans changed quickly and I needed a place for my young adult granddaughter and myself so I booked a single room for a few days. It was clean, comfy, homey and adequate for our needs. It was decorated with cute accessories and "outdoorsy" sayings on the throw pillows and wall decor (my style š). Even when there was a mishap involving a bloody cut and their white washcloth and towel, the owners were understanding and empathetic and would not accept my offer to pay for the "damage" (my word, not theirs) to the items. When it was time to move to the large cottage, the staff was overly helpful and accommodating to get us in with the least amount of bother to us. Even though technically the check-in time was hours away. The cottage was beautifully furnished and decorated and had enough space to be together playing or eating at the table as well as enough room inside and outside to find a space to be by yourself. The record player was a nice touch, but the youngsters didn't like our taste in music š¤£. There were board games available to use and campfire story starters cards to initiate conversations š¬. Just what should be happening amongst families. Our family enjoyed what was SUPPOSED TO BE a short respite so much that we extended our stay. But that cottage was already booked by another family, so once again the owners worked with us on short notice and accommodated us AGAIN. We were placed in 2 separate cottages that fit our needs perfectly. It worked out because we each had our own spaces but were close enough to still spend time together at the pool, jacuzzi and fire pit. The staff and owners are very eager to make your stay as comfortable and relaxing as possible. No matter if you are there for 1 night or a full week or longer. ( remember at the beginning we were only booked for 2 nights, but stayed in some capacity all week long). I honestly can't say anything bad about our experience. ** I HOPE PEOPLE REALIZE THAT MOLLY & CHRIS (I hope I remembered his name correctly š¤¦āāļø) HAVE ONLY OWNED THIS PLACE FOR 4 MONTHS ! ** THEY HAVE BIG PLANS FOR CONTINUED RENOVATIONS AND EXPANSION SO GIVE THEM GRACE FOR THINGS THAT MIGHT NOT BE PERFECT RIGHT NOW ! Thank you staff & owners for a fantabulous stay,...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe absolutely loved the Seascape! It is rare to find a gem like this oneāimmaculately clean, cozy, fairly priced, AND impeccably designed! Theyāve thought of everything: record players in every room with a lending library in the main office; all the materials you need to make a fire and sāmores at every fire pit; extra towels in the room including pool towels and darker towels for eye makeup removal; little things like q tips in the bathrooms (which I always forget to pack); organic, delicious-smelling shampoo, body wash, and conditioner in the shower; a well-stocked kitchen (in the cottages) with everything we needed down to an ice cream scooper. Each cottage had a front porch with chairs and a table with an umbrella, then a picnic table and grill on the grass next to it. Seriously, they had everything I could think to ask for.
Small things to keep in mind: it is on route 1, so it isnāt silent, BUT the Seascape is up a little hill, so it still feels set back and private, and makes it so that you have a glorious view of the bay from your porch. The pool has a privacy wall built in so that you canāt see the road and they canāt see you. We prefer a quiet environment and we didnāt mind the proximity of the main road at all. If you want extra privacy, cabin 16 was the most set back. Also, the service was super friendly and helpful, but when they were not in their office hours (3-8 for check-in, I believe), they were a bit tricky to find when we needed an extra roll of toilet paperā¦we noticed this a lot in the area, that places seemed slightly lower on staff, so perhaps there is a labor shortage in Maine. So if you stay there make sure to notice what youāll need and ask for it in advance during those hours rather than waiting until the next morning!
And Belfast?! It is the most charming, lovely, cozy, calm, perfect seaside town. Absolutely...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis updated motel is very well done. Nothing has been overlooked. The decor is fun and cheerful. We sat outside one evening and enjoyed a fire in the Solo stove. We stayed in one of the motel rooms which is quite small but adequate. We would more than likely get a bigger unit if we were to return to Maine. There is a small table in the room for sitting/eating. There's coffee and tea provided, as well as a cooler which we took out to the firepit. We didn't take advantage of the pool but it looked very inviting. They also have a table and two chairs outside by your door which we used to have our breakfasts.||The owner was more than accommodating. This has to be the cleanest hotel/motel I have ever stayed in! It was so nice since that is high on our list.||Our only disappointment is that the motel is on a busy two-lane road which is loud The motel is also not on the water but across this busy road with no direct access to the water. We thought the photos were a bit misleading in this regard. And our air conditioner was noisy but we found that all through Maine in these older buildings window air conditioners tend to be noisy. ||I would recommend this motel. It is also centrally located. And there is a grocery store not far to...
