Early American Motel — Hotel in Benton

Was looking for a one night stay. This place was really nice. I would stay more nights. Room was dated, but very clean!! That is what I look for anymore, cleanliness! My room had 2 beds, was harder matress than I have at home, but would rather have a firm one when traveling vs a soft one! Had a room frig w/a little freezer section. Small microwave provided. Even had a full size coffee pot instead of one of those little one cup things. Did I mention how clean everything was?? Window air unit that was in a window overlooking the back of the motel. In 90+ degree heat the room was kept cool. Front porch had a small table and 2 chairs so you could sit outside and people watch. Good size pool was there and people were in it, but I didn't use it. Next business over was a food and bar place. Sat. night we were gonna walk over, as we could hear music from the live band outside. Decided we were 2 tired and didn't. Once we were in our room and closed the door, we couldn't hear the music or any road noise. I would highly recommend this place! Did I mention...

We booked this place in advance of the labor day weekend. Upon arrival I assume the owner greeted us and told us of some of the property amenities such as the sparkling clean pool, the grill area which I wished we would have taken advantage of, the cool gazebo out front to just sit and relax and enjoy the night air. All the rooms have a table and two chairs in front of each room so you can sit out and smoke on since they don't want you smoking in the rooms which was fine with us since neither of us smoke. The rooms then selves were very clean, a little mix of old style with new style as far as the overall appearance of the rooms. Nice, clean, and no worries of bed bugs.... We will definitely be back again. It's close to the lake and restaurants, he told us of the little restaurant across from the motel called the pond. If you like some good old fashioned little town eating then go there. Soup beans and corn bread with every meal. The fried maters were awesome too. Can't wait to go back next year. I am utterly, completely, and pleasantly overwhelmed by this hotel. Its such a clean and well kept home town hotel. The owners are incredibly nice and friendly. There was a minor snafu with our booking and they cleared it up in under 5 minutes and everything was fine and great! The rooms are cleaner than most big chain hotels I frequent, and at fractions of the price! They're quaint, clean, and nice and make you feel like you're back home even if you've never been here! Bathrooms are spotless, but I will admit they are a tad dated. Nothing at all wrong with that, and the showers have a very respectable amount of water pressure/spread, not to mention heat.
