This place is a super cool stop. We stopped on a Friday afternoon in July.

Items: The items range from fudge and snacks to jewelry and clothing to decor and household. Lots of unique pieces and some super cool ones. There's homemade candles in there that smell sooo good.

Prices: This place is boutique-y and definitely an interest spot for tourists. That reflects in the prices as they are higher than I would've anticipated. I'm sure the quality and coolness of some of the products are worth it.

Service: The ladies were super bubbly and kind. We enjoyed our visit very much!

Ice cream: The ice cream stand was really cute. Prices were pretty cheap, especially considering the serving size. The mint chocolate chip was good, but not like "normal". It was less sweet (which I didn't mind at all) and less minty. Hubby loved the Snickers ice cream but did not care for the hot fudge. There is outdoor seating with just a little bit of shade trees if you hit the right time of day. There is limited seating under the covered porch.

Bathroom: There is a single bathroom that has some age on it but the decor in there is quite comical. It was clean and working, so that's what counts.

Parking: There are just a dozen or less actual...

I had to write this review because I don't want anyone to miss a visit to the Hitching Post during their travels to Kentucky!! Well worth the stop! They carry so many unique items, many of which will evoke cherished memories of days gone by. From classic old school candies and 65 plus flavors of soda, to antiques and historic memorabilia, the store could be browsed for hours on end! Impossible to leave empty handed, though, because their product selection is just that good! Whether it's a sweatshirt, knick knack, funny plaque, beautiful jewelry, unique sundries, antiques, salt water taffy or THE FUDGE AND ICE CREAM THEY MAKE THEMSELVES AND IS FANTASTIC, fair warning, you will either consume or bring something home with you if you enter this store! We got a chance to meet the owners, and they are passionate about the store and serving their customers. The staff is sweet, responsive and very helpful! Grounds also include a fascinating tree with animals carved into it, an antique still, and antique buggies in back. When traveling near the Land between the Lakes, you'll love spending time (and money haha) at The Hitching Post & Old...

Such an experience here... Cute things for representing Kentucky Lake... Old fashion candy, soda & coffee... One of a kind store Jewelry- handmade Sweatshirts & t-shirts ( all sizes, infants to 3X large adults, possibly larger) Coffee mugs of larger sizes for that cup of joe or in my case, hot tea Homemade ice cream & fudge Novelty items for home decor & snarky items for your kitchen...

And if you drive a "Jeep" , they have ducks, super soft sweatshirts with the "grill" on the front...

Now to write the review, Great Place to stop by & experience the 'Good Ole Days" of eras of the past... Been a huge fan of this find since moving to Western Kentucky 5 years ago... Family & Friends are huge fans everytime they visit... Can't go wrong with this place!!!

Come & Visit the amazing ladies at The...

Originally built as a motel for travelers driving along US-68, the Hitching Post has been a stop for tourists since 1941! After the current owners bought the store over 15 years ago, they transformed the building into a unique shopping experience full of crystals, old fashioned toys/candy and, of course, lots of Kentucky Lake merch! Come on by to check it out for yourself! We are open Tuesday-Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 10am-4pm!#kylake #landbetweenthelakes #kentucky #soda #crystals #crystaltok #fudge #fyp
