Sleep Inn Big Spring North I-20 — Hotel in Big Spring

Overall, the accommodations were good. Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Liked the breakfast. Had a microwave and refrigerator which was a must for me. Staff was friendly. It satisfied our need for a clean, safe place to stay. The price was reasonable. I will be in Big Springs next month and will likely stay there again. I do have some comments for improvements. I mentioned to the lady at the desk the first night we were there that our toilet seat was loose and would move when we sat down. She said she would let them know the next day which was fine. Apparently maintenance wasn’t notified because no one came to tighten seat down on the commode. Bathroom was clean but could use a little touch up of paint in some areas on the wall. Also there is loose floor tile in the bathroom close to the toilet. I recommend grab bars in the shower for senior adults for safety. My father who is 84 was with me and mentioned that the tub was slippery and no grab bars. The carpet in the room was old and needed replacement. The pool outside was drained and not operational. I’m not sure why? It would have been nice for guests to be able to use it but wasn’t a must for me to stay there. I did notice that the business center computer was not functional. While I personally didn’t need to use it. It would be important since that amenity is offered that it works properly. Over all we were satisfied and the price was reasonable. The service here was outstanding!! Eshaun was great. He was having trouble with the check-in but it was because the site was down. I was trying from my phone as well. He was finally able to get it to work and got us a room and everything we needed. He was very helpful. We were in town for a funeral and it didn’t start till later the next day. I asked another representative if we could get a late check out and they said we couldn’t. I was frustrated but rules are rules, so I was trying to figure out something to do for the next day. The next day rolled around and I was stressing a little about the 11 am check out time. The manager had a card at the desk so I texted her and told her the situation and asked if she could recommend things to do in the area or if we could at least get a 12pm or 1pm checkout. She was quick to respond and said that 1 pm would be no problem. This my friends is great customer service and very appreciated. No stars if possible. Worst ever. We reserved weeks in advance. They were taking a trip to Arizona and that was our halfway point of a 24-hour drive. The pictures look nice everything sound nice. complimentary breakfast and Wi-Fi and TV for the kids we were looking forward to. But nothing was as advertised . Got in late. Room spelled the pillows was flat was ready to sit down relax take a shower let the kids watch TV. One thing they don't tell you until you've already paid no smoking in the room. No prob.
