Just wanted to leave a review. I called late at night to reserve a room and was immediately welcomed by the kindest souls a man and women running front desk were so hospitable to me and invited me and my service dog (Great Dane) into there hotel, room was very affordable and was such a relief to find something such short notice. I was on a roadtrip about two weeks ago and was not planning to need a hotel that night so this was a sudden decision to stop for the night after making some detours and getting stressed I could not go any further for the night so this was a huge blessing to have them available and affordable without notice I was feeling sick and could not drive much further so after calling 3 places with no answers or rooms available this travel inn was the closest one so I called on the spot and they welcomed me. The location I was traveling thru doesn’t have many options so I felt relief to find them open and able to recieve me and my dog with no extra charges. They do charge a deposit fee $50 which they refunded me in the morning upon check out immediately was back in my bank I appreciated cuz was low on funds, most places can take a few days. I was happy with my stay considering the circumstances they were kind, hospitable and the place was peaceful gave me a private room in back of building away from any other guest it was just what I needed to get a nights rest. Nothing too fancy but give them grace they are remodeling the entire place the next day there were construction workers remodeling some rooms near mine, I saw ten brand new flat screen tvs being carried in the front office for the newly renovated rooms it’s a work in progress, I saw negative reviews and wasn’t sure what to expect but was pleasantly surprised my room was simple yet clean and quit was all that I needed. Highly recommend if your in need a of bed spot to rest for the night this place is great, also only a mile away from the natural tunnel park which was an amazing site to see when I checked out took my dog for a hike so that was a bonus we hadn’t planned for! Good people warm room soft bed, and they are actively upgrading the place from the old to the new! Thanks people at travel inn we great appreciate you for welcoming us in! I pray God blesses you and helps to continue transforming the place into a fresh new start don’t let negative people discourage you I saw the progress and I can see y’all are heading in the right direction, may you be blessed abundantly and have success in...
Read moreWhile the staff was very friendly, I suspect that this hotel will not be in business much longer. I arrived late at night and the hotel was not very well lit. It was also some distance from the main road, but I realize the owner has no control over that. When I surveyed the hotel early the next morning, it appeared that there were only about 5 guests staying there that night.
The check-in lobby had been moved to one of the first floor hotel rooms. What had been the front lobby was closed off and appeared to be used for storage.
I was told at check-in that the ice machine wasn't working and that I could get ice there at the front desk. I passed on the ice at that time and ended up not getting ice anyway.
When I arrived at my room the light switch wasn't working and I walked into a dark room in order to find a working light. I was unable to adjust the window curtain due to the curtain hooks being either missing or misaligned.
The paint near the ceiling of the bathroom was peeling away in places. There was a spider in the bathtub. Since it was there first and not really bothering anyone, I left it alone and did not shower that night.
While the bed seemed comfortable, I would not be a good judge of such thing at that point. I was extremely tired and a bed of rocks would have felt comfortable that night.
This was the least expensive hotel in the area, I would strongly suggest to the owner to charge at least $10 MORE per room. It would still be the least expensive hotel in the area, but the owner would have made an additional $50 on that night. That would average out to perhaps another $350/week - enough to fix the ice machine, or in a few weeks, enough to reopen the main lobby.
This hotel is struggling. The owner/manager was a nice man. I...
Read moreWe were out of hot water for 5 weeks up until 5days ago and the owner refused to comp the rate for it. He said he'd knock off a week of I didn't say anything. There was no TV/cable for 11days during Thanksgiving and the Wi-Fi never works! The owners exact words were, " deal with it" and "that's part of it". I offered to pay rent once he gave me the 4-5 week no hot water, black mold and roaches total, (price $). He didn't answer and today cut our heat and power to our room that we share with our 4 yr old son. When we tried to speak to the owners, they refused and sent the message to pay in full or leave (and laughed). Any hotel/motel in America would comp your room for no hot water, etc. but not Travel Inn. We've been moved 4-5 times due to black mold and the room we're in now has a tub that won't drain, roaches, (we're extremely clean, too), and black mold above the shower. The maintenance staff and manager has been notified of these issues and they've told the owners but nothing has happened. There's been 3-4 electrical fires in the last 2-3 months. And 2 arson related fires. The security lights don't work and every time we leave our room it seems as if we're missing something or our stuff 's bee gone through! So....Do Not, I repeat, Do Not, stay here! Live in a tent first. The manager is super nice and tries but the owner threatens her and her husband with unemployment and eviction, so she's always stressed! #SOS...
