We stopped in here on a family camping trip and had a good time. The docent said that they have more displays to add, but we didn't feel like anything was lacking. The displays are interactive and engaging. Everything is very clean, the views are amazing, and the staff is very knowledgeable. I also thought The Gift Shop was a nice little selection of relevant, interesting things. What I especially liked was that the staff remember we spoke to made a point of telling us that they are our Native American and African-American and displays in the works. She specifically said, "Hands that built our nation are hands that built our nation." When the displays talked about local tribes attacking settlers, they made a point to say why the tribes were in conflict instead of painting them as dangerous primitive people. There are also a few books about and by Native Americans in the Bookshop . I appreciate that.

Nice place ,it shows a short story about how Daniel Boone and others cut through the wilderness and marked the trails for others to get to the places they wanted to go to.lots of pictures made on the walls and some recorded autos on someone talking.. Very nice ..also has some items if u want to buy something.

This place is never open! The sign hours on the door and the website say open... but here we are on a Thursday at 2pm and not a single person here, working or not. A multimillion $$$ facility that is being well maintained but never open to the public. Like some kind of front... :(

Informative, well organized, good place to spend half an hour. I visited on the day after Thanksgiving and was outnumbered by the two very helpful staff 😂. The brief introductory video is helpful for people unfamiliar with the Wilderness Road. The exhibits do an excellent job conveying the dangers and difficulties early migrants faced. The indigenous peoples are also featured since they had used the route long before whites ‘discovered’ it. The only reasons I rated the interpretive center a 4 star attraction are 1) families might find children bored if tour guides aren’t on duty and 2) those familiar with the era like me, may wish more depth...

Went on a field trip with my daughter and the amazing and awesome teachers of the early head start program in Duffield. It was very interesting! Cool scenery and thematics inside and out, some technology was thrown in, and a few interactive things for the children, any age really. The facility and landscape was lovely and the staff was patient and informative. I thought it was a great place to go! This is a place to stop, whether you're a local (which you really...
