Old Homestead Hotel — Hotel in Birdseye

This is a new establishment as in just recently opened. This is a unique place to say the least and if you are looking at Staying in Patoka Lake, your options are very limited. Good Parts: Being new that means rooms and hallways still smell fresh Rooms are large Restaurant is next to it as well as winery and brewery Nice outside seating on second floor, inside still empty (see pics)

Cons: While Name has "Hotel" not sure if you can call it that. No Front Desk (yes you read it correct none) & no Elevator, so if you cant walk up stairs please make sure you have room on 1st floor. You can't call it Bed & Breakfast since none of that come with it (not even coffee, be prepared to pay $5 for regular cup of coffee). You can't call it Airbnb since rooms are hotel rooms! Hence "unique" establishment. Check in is done via code they send you, so similar to Airbnb, access place from outside and your room.

Hopefully those small things get taken care of and your stay be great.

Another note: To get your Park access you have to go to the gas station across the street, pay $50 cash refundable when you return it. As I said no Front Desk or staff at location. While you at it if you are a coffee drinker, get large coffee for $1.65 vs...
