So I'm on the road working on my birthday...yeah yeah, happy birthday, whatever...so my boss puts me up in what we thought was going to be a fabulous hotel. I stay in one every night so I kinda know which one are fabulous...first thing I experience is that there is no outdoor power (apparently they just did a bunch of renovations so maybe that's why? Never been to a hotel without at least one outdoor outlet) which I usually use to charge the company manlift that goes everywhere with me. Strike one. I walk in the door and tell the young women at the counter my name and that my boss had decided to put me up their awesome establishment, she doesn't even tell me happy birthday, asks me which floor I would prefer. ( customer service is a huge pet peeve of mine) Strike 2. I told her to pick where she wanted to put me, giving her a chance to redeem herself in the service department (I'm really not a bad guy) and she promptly puts me on the second floor ( when first floor was one of the options she gave me) in what turned out to what I would only refer to as some sort of closet...was it really a closet? No. Did it fall far below the standards that other Hampton Inns had set for me in the past? Yes. The window was about 2 ft wide and the ac wouldnt shut off no matter what I set the climate control device on. In the rooms defense it was clean and most thing were servicable, with the exception of the COFFEE POT. I was not a happy Hampton Inn camper in the morning. The breakfast however was fabulous...already peeled citrus fruit? Nice touch! Cheese omelets and maple sausage. Yummy. But alas, needless to say I felt like an irrelevant number rather than any kind of special...which I believe is what their job is. And on my birthday no less. I'm not usually one to give bad reviews, but I thought you all...

Checked in and was given a parking pass and went up to the room for a couple of hours expecting that I'd be fine to bring the parking pass down then since no emphasis was given on the pass being put out sooner.|| Instead I found that my car had been towed, and the least empathetic front desk person I've ever experienced told me to call the general manager on Monday and "Maybe she will be able to refund the towing fee" After having to Uber my partner home and then Uber myself to the tow lot I dropped almost twice the cost of the room itself. ||When I then spoke with the general manager, she accused me of being "greedy" for asking for a refund for the cost of the room and towing (which she said she was unable to do in any case) and said if I'd not asked for both she "Might have given me one of them" That evening I saw 4 other visitors whose cars had been towed that were paying customers so the excuse of needing to "ensure that guests have a place to park" felt wildly unbelievable. ||I've been a loyal Hilton customer for years and stayed at this location three times this year alone, but needless to say I'll not be returning. I would have happily forgiven the stained sheets, the moldy smelling room with the AC off that we found when we got up there, but getting scammed out of twice the cost of what I was expecting is a bridge too...
