Brown County is beautiful! We went down for our engagement and chose to stay at the Hampton in Bloomington. Upon waking, we decided to check out the local farmers market but to our surprise, we had no car. They towed us right out of guest parking. The excuse being that they had a tow away sign (which was hidden in the middle of the parking lot and posted out of eye level. Law states they need to be at every entrance.) They also stated that they had other signs everywhere... one was apparently on the door that moves out of your face when you walk in (we arrived late at night) and the other one she pointed out was at knee level under the front desk counter. (Hampton/Hilton allows you to check in digitally, so how is that helpful?) She ran off some rehearsed line about about disability compliance failing to realize her own ignorance in regards to those laws or her own states towing laws. As a guest of the Hampton/Hilton, once you pay for the overpriced room you automatically gain access to "guest parking" and nowhere on the only legally (That's questionable) hung sign does it state that a made up paper parking pass is required or that guests will also be towed away if they do not have one in their Windshield. How are these people even still franchised under the name of such a large company? Not a good look Hampton/Hilton. Thanks for a memorable engagement though and admitting guilt by refunding my room rate!

Check in no problem, price ok. Room looked nice in picture upon entering the room I noticed the pillows on the bed looked as if someone had just gotten up (head indentation ) my husband told me I was being weird.. we dropped our things and went directly to the pool. Which the pool was fine nothing special, plenty of seating no towels avail, the rack was empty. We headed back to the room to wash up for dinner and I pulled down the blanket on the bed and the sheets were all messed up and wrinkled like they were slept in and the blanket was pulled up for aesthetics. We decided to visit the front desk for a solution. They were extremely nice and moved us to a new room. The new room was hot and smelly upon entering and the toilet was disgusting! Not going into details but really GROSS!! There were cobwebs bigger than my head in the room too, I took pics, don't know if I can post them here. So all in all I would stay at the Cascades down the street, which is cleaner, & cheaper. The ONLY difference is the parking lot and lack of pool! I will not be going back to this Hampton...definitely NOT up to Hilton (their parent company) standards! House keeping leaves so much to be desired!!! The desk staff was really nice, that is reason for 2 stars and I thought it would be distasteful to post pics of the toilet.

BLACK MOLD DO NOT STAY HERE. Our experience and was AWFUL. We ended up going to the La Quinta which was amazing customer service and very very nice. We booked with points and it was a waste. Front desk employee would not help us. Would not let us speak to a manger. Our first room we checked Into was dirty. Slim Jim wrappers, Mountain Dew bottles on the floor. The beds not made. The second room they put us In had BLACK MOLD. All over the ceiling in the bathroom. When I requested a refund the front desk wouldn’t help me. Told me the manager is In on Monday from 7-9 to about 2-4 like they only ever have a manager for a few hours a day?? He wouldn’t even go look at the room. So clearly they are aware they had black mold. Terrible customer service and absolutely disgusting hotel. Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Stay away. Now I’m trying to get my points and money refunded and it’s been a complete pain due to the lack of care at the front desk.

So I'm on the road working on my birthday...yeah yeah, happy birthday, whatever...so my boss puts me up in what we thought was going to be a fabulous hotel. I stay in one every night so I kinda know which one are fabulous...first thing I experience is that there is no outdoor power (apparently they just did a bunch of renovations so maybe that's why? Never been to a hotel without at least one outdoor outlet) which I usually use to charge the company manlift that goes everywhere with me. Strike one. I walk in the door and tell the young women at the counter my name and that my boss had decided to put me up their awesome establishment, she doesn't even tell me happy birthday, asks me which floor I would prefer. ( customer service is a huge pet peeve of mine) Strike 2. I told her to pick where she wanted to put me, giving her a chance to redeem herself in the service department (I'm really not a bad guy) and she promptly puts me on the second floor ( when first floor was one of the options she gave me) in what turned out to what I would only refer to as some sort of closet...was it really a closet? No. Did it fall far below the standards that other Hampton Inns had set for me in the past? Yes. The window was about 2 ft wide and the ac wouldnt shut off no matter what I set the climate control device on. In the rooms defense it was clean and most thing were servicable, with the exception of the COFFEE POT. I was not a happy Hampton Inn camper in the morning. The breakfast however was fabulous...already peeled citrus fruit? Nice touch! Cheese omelets and maple sausage. Yummy. But alas, needless to say I felt like an irrelevant number rather than any kind of special...which I believe is what their job is. And on my birthday no less. I'm not usually one to give bad reviews, but I thought you all...

Visitor be warned, When given a parking pass at this location RUN it outside! Checked in and was given a parking pass and went up to the room for a couple of hours expecting that I'd be fine to bring the parking pass down then since no emphasis was given on the pass being put out sooner.|| Instead I found that my car had been towed, and the least empathetic front desk person I've ever experienced told me to call the general manager on Monday and "Maybe she will be able to refund the towing fee" After having to Uber my partner home and then Uber myself to the tow lot I dropped almost twice the cost of the room itself. ||When I then spoke with the general manager, she accused me of being "greedy" for asking for a refund for the cost of the room and towing (which she said she was unable to do in any case) and said if I'd not asked for both she "Might have given me one of them" That evening I saw 4 other visitors whose cars had been towed that were paying customers so the excuse of needing to "ensure that guests have a place to park" felt wildly unbelievable. ||I've been a loyal Hilton customer for years and stayed at this location three times this year alone, but needless to say I'll not be returning. I would have happily forgiven the stained sheets, the moldy smelling room with the AC off that we found when we got up there, but getting scammed out of twice the cost of what I was expecting is a bridge too...

Instead I found that my car had been towed, and the least empathetic front desk person I've ever experienced told me to call the general manager on Monday and "Maybe she will be able to refund the towing fee" After having to Uber my partner home and then Uber myself to the tow lot I dropped almost twice the cost of the room itself.
