This is really just a very generic Mexican restaurant, good reviews are generally written from people who have never tried Mexican food before. (The only thing this place does different from almost any other Mexican restaurant is smother things in cheese) Don't ever go here though the service is awful. Being busy is one thing but having to wait 30+ minutes for a server to even take a drink order is another thing. This place is close to my house so I used to just deal with it because of how conveniently close it was but then they really screwed me over---
I ordered a carryout meal for my girlfriend and myself at around 9:30 and their kitchen closes at 10:00, I figured 30 minutes is an acceptable amount of time to place an order before a place closes. They clearly gave us the oldest food they had and reheated some cheese, everything tasted awful. This is annoying and everything but at any decent restaurant when you immediately comeback and complain they would give you your money back or give you a credit. The manager there wrote my name down and the next time I went in we sat down and ate and I asked about it, I have worked several food jobs and all of them have a file for the people who get credits or anything, the manager asked me what the other managers name was (like why in the world would I take down his information?) and said that he did not know anything about it so I should get the other manager's name next time, and just gave me a measly 10% off event though my credit should have been for 25$. This just shows how garbage the service is at this La Charreada 1st he is calling me a liar by saying I need to present proof the them that they messed up a week ago or they won't believe me, 2nd my story is really believable and I was basically a regular there and never complained about anything before that point (Just about any food place will give you whatever you want if you complain even if it is clearly not true because sometimes it is true), and 3rd I only got like 3$ off my order so I am still out 22$ because La Charreada has terrible management.
--- It's wait staff is totally incompetent, really avoid this place like the plague, service is awful here because the owner just hires his increasingly incompetent friends and family and pays them in cash so they can avoid being taxed. This place is really sketchy don't go here EVER, Casa Brave is right near the mall and has a much better wait staff and managers in case you ever do have a problem or want to have someone take your order within the first 20...
Read moreWORST FOOD POISONING I HAVE HAD- i don’t normally leave reviews but this restaurant gave me the worst food poisoning i’ve had, i was excited to try this place due to all of the great reviews and people raving about how amazing it is. my food and the person i went with both had a bad experience, neither of us were fans of the food, it was lacking in a lot of flavor and just did not taste very good, i barely even ate 1/4 of my chimichanga. the only thing i moderately liked was the salsa, as i love to eat any type of salsa, but the person i went with was not a fan of that either. the chips were stale, the queso was literally just liquid, my chicken in my chimichanga was just so dry, the teas were overbearingly sweet, just nothing about the experience was pleasant. the restaurant smelt disgusting and that should’ve been our first sign to leave, as it smelt like weird mildew and something just off and tangy- it almost smelt as if there was water damage or mold or something was rotting. the floors were disgusting and the place did not seem very clean. the service was also terrible- we were there for almost 2.5 hours it was insane. the food looked good when it came out but it was not very good and later that night i was throwing up and having a very bad experience. we won’t go into details there but you can imagine. i know it was from here as it had been all i had eaten that day, as i had felt sick and nauseous shortly after...
Read moreI've never left a restaurant & didn't leave a tip but I did today. The first server we had was very friendly. After he took the order we never saw him again. When our order was delivered, by a different "server", the steak was fatty & it was medium well instead of medium rare. You can see clearly the steak had way too much seasoning on it (my son said it was "heavy Taco seasoning). The steak ended up being $19 & just an insane rip off. The fajitas I ordered were not warm, the tortillas were hard & I didn't receive the plate of toppings (sour cream, Pico, guac, etc). The "server" we had was very distracted on the main phone & his cell phone. He appeared to be juggling multiple things at once. I am not a needy customer & for the few requests I did have, I felt like an inconvenience. I filled out the receipt with a tip but after the guy ran my card, he bolted outside & was preoccupied so I signed the other receipt & left. We felt like an inconvenience. We are new to the area & was really hoping that the high previous reviews that drew us there meant we found a great Mexican spot...
