On the Hilton site, this property is listed as newly renovated. While in the elevator, I asked another guest if he knew where the renovations were done. “Renovations? Maybe 10 years ago.”||If they’re talking about the lobby, guests don’t stay there, they stay in their rooms. This is my experience with room 417.||You can expect to see torn carpet as soon as you walk in the door. You can expect to see worn furnishings. If you like cracked tub caulking, this is the room for you. The bathroom door is water damaged, not sure how long ago though. The bathroom floor hasn’t been mopped in a while. Don’t look too closely at the windows. You may not appreciate the view of algae and mildew. If you want any kind of performance out of the WiFi, at least in this room, you need to spend the $4.95. If you don’t, expect even a picture in an email to struggle loading.||I reluctantly needed to extend this experience an extra day. As I went down for breakfast, I stopped at the front desk. There was no one there. Mentioning that I needed to extend my stay, I was informed she was busy and that I should come back. Ok? I stopped again after breakfast. Do you have your credit card to swipe? Huh? You have all of that for the reservation, when I initially checked in, and for the incidentals. No, you’ll need to swipe again. Off to the room again and back down to book another night. In contrast, this previous weekend, I was at another Hilton property, the Hampton Inn in Delray. I picked up the phone in the room and extended the stay. Not a major issue but so unnecessarily inconvenient. ||Last night, Friday, 7:15p, I’m hungry and really didn’t feel like leaving. I popped down to the lobby to visit the corner where the bar is and get one of their flatbreads and a cocktail. Hours are listed as 5-9, Mon-Sat… nope, locked up and dark. A bit more than inconvenient at this point. ||Makes you wonder who is buying Trip Advisor reviews to have this be a 4 out of 5 property. Has no one from Hilton corporate come down to inspect where their supposedly renovated dollars went. Other than Levone? at the front desk when I checked in and the cook at breakfast, the staff is about as friendly as wet pasta. Something isn’t adding up. || Back to the WiFi, I’ve added a screenshot from uploading the pictures...
Read moreI own a business and had to send 2 of my staff to Boca Raton. I booked the room in one staff member's name with my business card. When he arrived to check in, they wouldn't accept the card I had booked the room with, even though he had it on him. I then had to send him money to his own card so he could check into his room.
Several issues were noted during their stay, including bugs in the room and the pool was green. We ALWAYS stay at Hilton hotels and are honor members. Most of them have free breakfast, but this one had the same exact food others give for free and were charging $14 a person for it.
The final and biggest problem of all is after checking out, our staff member noticed the hotel took an additional $250 from his card. We called in and spoke to the assistant manager, who told us it was a glitch in the system and was only supposed to be a $50 hold and the money will be released back onto his card. He then proceeded to call our staff member and tell him the charge was due to him smoking in his room, which is absolutely not true as he doesn't even smoke. When asked what proof he has, he sent a picture of a cup with water and ashes in it and stated the woman that cleaned the room said it smelled very strongly of smoke. The picture of the cup showed no proof whatsoever, as it could have been taken anywhere and doesn't show the space around it to prove it was taken in their room. Yet, they still have not given him his money back.
This is not the first time this hotel chain has done this to us. My husband and mother stayed in one in Cleveland and they charged us $250 for the same thing. We had to fight that one too until they finally gave us our money back. I think this is ridiculous and if it's not resolved, we will not ever be staying in a Hilton hotel again. They feel they have the right to just take your money when they have no proof of what they are claiming you did. My husband has never smoked in a hotel room but yet had to fight to get his money back. And here we are again going through the same thing and it's all based on one person's claim of smelling smoke. I wonder how much of a kick-back that person is getting from our $250 and how many other people have experienced this at a...
Read moreI did not have a good experience here at all whatsoever. I had a terrible impression from the start because we arrived earlier than check-in time due to having an early flight, and they told us we would have to sit in the lobby and wait for a room, which was understandable. While we were waiting, we asked the lady at the front desk if we were able to eat some of the breakfast at the hotel, (we were starving from a long flight and we are paying customers staying at the hotel), and since we did not have a room # yet for it to be charged to, she said it would be fine for us to just have it charged to the room once we got one. We also even offered to pay with card and she said its fine we can just charge it to the room once we got it. So we proceeded over to the breakfast which was right next to the front desk, and as we were getting our food, an older blonde woman (an employee) was eyeing us down and staring at us. I noticed it, and clarified to her that we are guests staying at the hotel and that we havent gotten our room yet and thats why we still had our luggage, and that we would be paying once they would charge it to our room once it was assigned. She said ok, and walks over to the front desk and talks to the original lady we spoke to, and comes back (we are now sitting and eating at thus point) and says that the front desk lady didnt say that we could do that (which she literally did) and slams a bill down for us to pay and was so rude. i paid it obviously and she came back and i said thank you (trying to be nice) and she ignored me and grabbed the bill and walked away. she was giving us looks the entire time as if we were stealing or doing something wrong. she made us extremely uncomfortable and the professionalism was so low. the front desk employee also did nothing about that and let it happen as if she didnt literally give us permission to do so. and the lady at the front desk also whispers so low when she speaks and you cant understand a word she is saying. on top of that, our room was not cleaned ONCE at all the entire time we were here. absolutely so disappointed in this hotel and i would never...
