Room was clean, bed comfortable. Restaurant was decent, I've had better but by no means was it bad. Service was good, she did forget some stuff that should be simple, but very friendly. And the veiw is beautiful. However, we dropped our things in the room and went to the casino for the evening. Upon return, I found a dirty washcloth on the bench, a pillow was removed from the bed and the closet was open. I confronted security and was told no one but us was on our room. Next morning my husband and I were being intimate and someone tried to come into the room! Good thing the deadbolt thing caught it. I asked housekeeping about it, the girls I talked to said my room wasnt on their list. Security was "checking on it" and never got back to me. Next night, I needed more glasses for the room so I went over to housekeeping. No one was in there so I helped myself to some glasses then told the housekeeper in the pool room what I did. Walking back to the casino after dropping the glasses I was stopped by security and asked why I was in the laundry room. I told them and then kind of unloaded about someone being in my room...like you're going to stop me about stupid glasses but it's no big deal someone was in my room when they shouldn't have been. I dont know if it was housekeeping or another guest that ended up at the wrong door, either way, NO ONE had any business coming into our room either time. I will note nothing was missing. I heard of other places were key cards are dysfunctional and open doors they shouldn't. If I stay again I'm going to set up a trail cam! Would have given 4 stars for quality of room ect. But I just cant get over the people in our room thing....and it almost seemed like they've had this issue before and knew how to avoid me. Our friends had an issue with their points and when speaking with some kind of manager at the front desk, she was very rude and unhelpful. Claiming she didnt have access to this or that. Well....go get someone who does...? Also, the casino was FILTHY. Every single machine we sat at was sticky, had ashes all over it...just gross. No cocktail waitresses...
Read moreMy husband and I were visiting family in Bonners Ferry, and preferred to stay at a hotel. We weren't expecting a high-quality hotel in this small town, but when I did a search on hotels in the area and a Best Western showed up, being BW members, I was pleased to have that option. My son who lives in BF was familiar with the hotel. When I called for reservations, I easily got through to a front desk staff member who made the reservation process easy. The rates were surprisingly reasonable. We booked for six nights, but then because of an illness had to call to postpone the reservation for a few weeks later. The staff had no issues making the change, and put me at ease. While there, we did end up having to checkout a few days early due to family issues, and one quick call to the front desk and they took care of it, no penalties or issues at all. I was very appreciative. The hotel itself is very well maintained. We had a room on the river side, and the view was stunning of the river and the mountains. Each room has a balcony with very nice table and chairs. We took advantage of that with drinks one evening and breakfast one morning. The bathroom was very very clean and up to date, as was the room itself. We were extremely impressed, as we travel often and rarely come across a hotel with such clean and classy rooms, and accommodating staff. They have fantastic complimentary full-service breakfast options in the dining room, which we really enjoyed. They also have a fantastic restaurant on-premise and we dined on the outside patio with the family. The wait staff was always pleasant and accommodating, and the service was quick. Quality of food was fantastic. This hotel is also a casino, so there is always patronage on-site. The lobby is beautiful, with a large fireplace and spacious comfortable seating in which to enjoy the fireplace and just visit or chill. I HIGHLY recommend this Best Western Kootenai. It was also within easy walking distance to the tiny historic downtown area where we were able to stroll, shop, eat and...
Read moreWe have been on a 45-day road trip Coast to Coast across the USA. This is our last stay of our trip and when we arrived the feeling I had was incredible. The beautiful River and the mountains backdrop with the wildlife and waterfowl made me feel very calm and peaceful. We were also very tired from our trip and they had room service. The room service is from the restaurant inside the hotel and the food is delicious. The food is pricey, but it is worth it. The deck is facing the river and it is very nice. It reminds me of a cruise that we took around Australia where we had room service and a balcony to overlook the ocean. Needless to say we decided to stay two nights instead of one and we are very happy we did. There's also a wildlife refuge close by that you can drive through which is fantastic. I saw my first owl in the wild and that was super cool. The little downtown has some cool shopping and restaurants, but we didn't stop by. Back to the hotel... we did not use the casino because we do not gamble. We did use the restaurant for the complimentary breakfast and it was very good. The rooms are updated and designed very well. The water pressure is good and the air conditioner works well. There is a train that goes by but I put in ear plugs and didn't notice it while I was sleeping. Best of all, the entire hotel is smoke-free and that includes the balconies or decks. That makes it really nice for sitting out and enjoying the fresh air and I really appreciate this hotel for making that policy. The beds are too firm for me and it makes my back stiff and ache, but the swimming pool and the hot tub is very nice and that helps with the achy back. I want to come back here every year and I hope the...
