This is the worst motel I have ever been in. To start we had called and paid over the phone and when we got there to to check on the man said there was no record of payment and REFUSED to look at the receipt on my phone and demanded another payment but ended up waiting 30+ minutes for him to call and get ahold of the manager when the purpose of prepayment was meant to get a room with ease after a long day. The person who made the prepayment kept calling to get it straight but the person working kept hanging up on her and was more than rude. They had filthy rooms, everything was disgusting and roaches which I will be posting pictures. A bad refrigerator that wasn't working right so all my perishables went bad overnight. They wouldn't have housekeeping come and we needed clean linen and towels but they refused to do it and everytime I asked the person behind the desk they said they couldn't do it if I had anywhere else to be I would not of stayed as long as I did but 5 nights!! And never any new linen!! My friend helped pay for a couple of those nights with her credit card(big mistake), once we left they harged her $30 the next day and when she called asking why they "claimed" it was due to carpet damage but showed no proof because it was nonexistent! Then a week later charged her an additional $25 for who knows what nut a week later!! Lesson learned never use a credit card there or better off never go there. My fiance unclothed the sink in our room because the water wouldn't go down and he pulled out so much hair and gunk and it smelled so rancid we gagged. Sorry for this review turning into a novel but go to any other motel bypass this one as it is disgusting, full of rude owners/employees. Also the keycard was not working properly. They also advertise a HOT breakfast but when we went for this so called hot breakfast was told the grill hasn't worked in a long time. Read moreplace is literally disgusting we booked a our rooms we got 2 rooms we asked for 2 rooms with dual beds we got the key cards to the room we went in and it was a single beded room we went back the guy Harrol at the front desk (not sure if that’s how you spell it) he gave us keys to the other rooms and we finally got the right room it says pet friendly but behind the bed there was what looked like crumbs biggg crumbs if that wasn’t already bad the first 30 minutes of us being in the room we found a bug we tried to ignore it and say all hotels have some defects we went out to the pool and saw that it looked nothing like the pictures it wasn’t clear nor did it look like it was cleaned we went back inside disappointed because the pool wasn’t clean we chilled for a few hours until night where my cat was going behind the beds I moved the bed so I can grab him and that’s where i saw him eating whatever the hell was on the floor I picked him up quick put him in his carrier and as I was pushing the bed back in a spider came out from the bed we quickly killed it picked it up and put it in the trash then that was the last of it we decided to pack and go to the front desk to ask for a refund for our other night because we booked 2 nights I told him sense we already stayed yall can keep the money for the first night but the other day needs to be refunded harrol (again didn’t hear his name over his accent so I’m not sure if that’s his name) he wanted us to show him so we took him to our room and showed him what was behind the bed after he told us that the rooms were “new” I showed him the crumbs behind the bed then he proceed to ask for pictures of the bugs we killed and we said we didn’t have any we killed them and threw it away he shrugged and said well and i proceeded to say even if we didn’t take the pictures of the bugs you can’t ignore the back of the bed that has crumbs all under it and it’s supposedly “pet friendly” if I could give this place a -10 I would please avoid this place at all cost this isn’t even all the...
Read moreIf you go to the website and look at Ruther Glen Days Inn website and you look at the pictures they provide DO NOT BE FOOLED like me and my family was. This hotel looks nothing like the pictures. It is extremely outdated and it was so disgusting. The clerk for the office was very rude and carried a judgemental look on her face while I registered which I would assume would be from me trying to cancel the reservation before I even seen the rooms. The outside of the hotel and the lobby were very outdated and also had a strange smell. So upon entering the hotel parking lot I knew this was not going to be for me and my family. The clerk told me I could not get a refund because I had a reservation. We went to our rooms and there was hair on the floors and there was trash behind the beds. The linens were stained , fixtures outdated , furniture was wobbly and the smell was worse than stale. There were bugs located on the inside of the room on the window and some placed on the floor. I was very disappointed and stressed at this point and we went back to the park. We arrived back at around 10:40 pm and myself and my niece took a shower and I was extremely itchy after mine and she had stated she was too when she finished her shower. I immediately looked me another hotel and was lucky enough to find one right up the street that was so much nicer and the clerk was a great help. They would not refund the money for one night stating that we used the pool and the shower. That is fine, I am okay with that. I just don't want someone else to spend a night of disappointment in a facility where you could possibly wake with bugs on you or worse.
