My every day "I need a break!" place!! We go here at least once a month but, during stressful times, more like once a week. Love the entire staff and have known many since the establishment first came to Ruther Glen.
Very appreciative of the short wait time between ordering and actually eating (these guys are FAST). Although COVID had a huge impact on the menus of many restaurants (limited choices, inferior ingredients, slow response, etc), Mi Jalisco got even BETTER during the closed dining room period!! They were able to focus more on their food quality and we are 100% grateful for their dedication to improving everything on their menu.
Have read some people's complaints, criticisms and bad experiences and statements that they would NEVER come back. Well, everyone has an off day but we have found that if you actually express your concerns with staff, they will bend over backwards to correct the issue. Manager is VERY attentive and WILL address the issue... right then! Some folks might be disappointed because they are looking for gourmet food (or, most often, Cuban, Brazilian or other specialty items)... yeah, no, not here. More like American Mexican... that's fine with me.
This is a largely rural community and I am glad that our restaurants, while available to the thousands of folks traveling along I-95, have made the choice to cater to the locals and not tried to appeal to the gourmet demands of those...
Read moreDO NOT GO HERE! Everything was terrible starting from the service, to the place & the food! Not to mention management!!
When we first walked in the place it was extremely hot like they can't afford A/C and had a terrible odor (like mold). The place itself looks disgusting, unclean and disorganized. Once our server came by and asked us what we wanted to drink, I asked him a question regarding an item on the menu and his response was "You can look at the menu".....and that was just the beginning!! My husband and I wanted to started off with the nachos, and soon as the nachos were brought out by the manager, we immediately knew that the food quality was terrible...it was worse than Taco Bell at its best! Honestly! The manager proceeded to disrespect me in front of my husband, after my husband confronted the manger he proceeded to speak in Spanish as if he didn't want the people around listening to how disrespectful this establishment is. If you want better Mexican food, Poco loco is just right off exit 118.
LADIES IF YOU WANT TO BE DISRESPECTED IN FRONT OF YOU MAN... BY ALL MEANS... THIS...
Read moreI went here for lunch with one of my customers at his suggestion and was not disappointed.
They have a ton of different combos for lunch at very easy on the wallet prices. I had a enchilada, taco, and chili relleno (spelling). I love the stuffed chili pepper that I got, but don't like them at most places. They are either really good or not great at all. I was pleasantly surprised and it was very good. I added a side of rice and soda and even with all that food, I still got out of there under $10.
Id recommend the place to people living in the area or if you happen to be traveling down i95 around lunch time and want something different than all the fast food places that are always off the exits. It was the Carmel Church exit (104 I believe) and if you head towards route 1 you will see it on your right as soon as you get to the light for route 1. Only a couple of minutes off...
