Promised at the time of reserving was the rate of $48.00 a night ( tax is in there ) with T.V. and Wi-Fi. That sounded okay. I don't need much. Give me a bed, a shower and a little internet availability and i'm happy.
The first night the Wi-Fi was shaky. Sometimes it was fast enough, then there were short outages then it was slow, then speedy, etc., etc. The second night, after tramping through the woods all day looking for morels I looked forward to relaxing, checking my emails and browsing the internet after my shower but alas, no internet that night. The lady that runs the place said they have no control over the times that Wi-Fi does not work. Obviously it's a regular occurrence. I imagine just a simple reset of the old tech Wi-Fi router would have done the job but what do you do when it's very late at night and the people that run the place are sleeping?
I cut my 3 night stay to 2. It's a clean enough place but when someone advertises Wi-Fi on their website I expect it to be working. I drove 12 hours to get there. If I knew there was not going to be working Wi-Fi I would have found another place. The bathroom is a bit crowded. It takes a lot of running water to get to the hot water. You could hear the guy in the next room snoring. The shower is a very narrow pre-fab. I am tall and slim therefore I had a difficult time bending over to wash my lower legs and feet without hitting my head on the hand rails inside the shower stall.
There was a desk with a old T.V. on one end with enough room on the other end to set up a laptop but no chair to sit in.
In spite of these points I still would have spent the third night if there had been internet to...
Read moreThis is one of the rare places in Boyne City or Boyne Falls that welcomes pets. My dog and I came to visit family and made our home here for a week, then extended our stay. It is a bit shabby, and certainly not updated to the current style. It could probably use a deep cleaning everywhere. But we were comfortable and happy here.||||When we stayed there were a number of Morel hunters in the complex and we all visited in the evenings. They were eager to hear about my great nephew's comical kindergarten soccer game and to tell about their Morel finds (but not where they made those finds). The layout of this place makes it easy to meet with other guests.||||Wifi is pretty wretched, sometimes I went outside to send a message. Plenty of hot water. Sheets and towels are very clean, floors a bit dodgy. My room had a fridge; next trip I'll get a full kitchenette. ||||You need to know what you want from a visit. I've stayed in several nice condos by the lake before, but they were far more expensive and did NOT let my dog come with me.||||BoyneVue is very inexpensive and they allowed my dog to come with. I enjoyed the company of the owners while I stayed here and one day their little granddaughter even knocked at my door to ask if she could take my dog for a walk. I am very comfortable recommending the price vs. value ratio for staying...
Read moreI’m a housekeeper at the Boyne Vue Motel, also the owners granddaughter, I wanted to come on here and share updated pictures and info on the motel! For the past two years my grandparents have been renovating the motel, fixing the floors, showers and over all improving the rooms by a lot. Each room has a microwave and a TV (that only plays cable tv) and some have a fridge. Our motel isn’t wheelchair accessible unfortunately since our sidewalk has a lift in the concrete with no slant, and our bathrooms are quite small as well so sorry for the inconvenience. The motel is in a relatively good spot, Boyne City is a very quick drive away, Petoskey is around 20 minutes away and Gaylord is 30! If you’d like any suggestions for local restaurants and businesses please ask the front desk, my grandparents definitely know a lot about the area given they’ve been here for...
