Boyne Mountain Resort is one of the only notable 4-season resorts in Michigan with an on-site airport for private planes.
The small, private airport offers a 5,200ft paved and illuminated runway and supports aircraft up to 80,000lbs.
No reservations are needed, landing fees are required, but there is no charge for parking. Tie-down space is also available. All of the technical info is available on Boyne Mountain’s website.
There is a tiny terminal which features a “pilots lounge” with a TV, two leather recliners, a coffee maker and separate men’s & women’s restrooms.
The airport was originally built and accompanied by a flight school in the early 1970s, which closed to ensure that the founder’s sons stayed in the ski business.
