Great atmosphere, very friendly waitress who was very personable and did a very great job. Probably some of the best wait staff around. We didn't have to wait long for food to arrive.
HOWEVER, the low rating is necessary as the food we received was outrageously overpriced. And the thing is it wouldn't have been overpriced if it was good with suitable portions.
Almost $100 after a tip and we left very dissatisfied and hungry. If I wasn't truly upset with this experience I would have left a better review. My husband, myself, and kids complained all the way back to Wolverine and were upset to waste so much money for a poor experience. It was gross, that's the only way to put it. My husband and 1/3 kids did not enjoy their meals. Our 3 year old and 5 year old both got macaroni and cheese that I'm pretty sure was just Kraft macaroni and cheese, that being said it was only like $4 so it was reasonable for a restaurant for the macaroni and cheese and they didnt complain.
We're not picky people and we're not fancy people, and even if it was at a more affordable price, we still would say that it was gross. The serving sizes were incredibly small and it looked like a fancy hot dog with a couple cuts on it which was included in the trifecta for $38. All of the meat was dry.
They have a great alcohol selection if that's what you're looking for but I do not recommend anything that we had on the food menu. Well I take that back because their fries were phenomenal and my youngest two didn't complain on the macaroni and cheese. Even my 8-year-old was grossed out by anything on the trifecta. I got a burger and took a lot of the things off of it because I'm just a picky eater so it was basically a cheeseburger and fries and it was $17 and honestly I couldn't even finish the burger because it was just gross, I don't know what it was about it but it was not appetizing. It's already on our list of places to not recommend unless you want alcohol. I wish I would have better news and could rate them better but I just can't. I manage Airbnbs in the area and I would not recommend the food,...
Read moreSo I drive past the whiskey inn twice a day, six days a week and have always wanted to stop.I am a truck driver so I cannot stop because I have a semi.Truck I live east of g**, so it is about a 45 minute drive. I went online, looked you up. Looked at the menu sent my son to the restaurant to get takeout. So we could eat your food while watching the Lions game. They refused to sell me 90% of what is on your menu? Because evidently, you have a separate takeout menu, which did not appear in the Google search The person Working There became very combative and nasty when I asked for an explanation. I asked a simple question. What is the difference? If you cook a slab of ribs which are precooked, by the way, put them on a plate for a customer sitting in the restaurant or putting them in a box to hand to a person standing at the counter, there is 0 difference. I asked to speak to a manager and was denied that opportunity. It will take a lot on your part for me to ever attempt to try your restaurant again. And I will tell every person I know and in gailard, I know a lot of people to never come to your establishment unless this is somehow made right shame on you. And the only reason I gave you one star is because zero stars is not available. Again...

Came in for dinner on 4-3-2025 with a group of 8...4 adults, 3 kids, and a baby. From the moment we walked in, our waiter, Tim, was terribly rude to us. He barely spoke 2 words, didn't ask if anyone wanted refills on beverages, and was very short with us. He made our experience super awkward and uncomfortable. We couldn't get out of there quickly enough. We were staying at Boyne Mountain for Spring Break and were given orange bracelets that could be used at your establishment for 10% off our meal. I showed him my bracelet and asked if he could apply it to our bill after we had placed our order. He simply looked at me, never said a word, and just walked away. When we received our bill, he never applied the discount. That's just one of the many negative things that happened. We watched the way he treated others, watched a table of young kids walk out after a short interaction with him, and other tables waiting far too long to be waited on. It was not busy at all. We used to come here to eat every year when staying at Boyne, but probably won't be back after this. Very...
