We had a fantastic time here. We stayed in the 2 bedroom Eagles Nest located in the lodge. We actually didn't stay here for the proximity to the park, or entirely for tubing. Although, we did tube, and it was fantastic fun! It's almost impossible to find accommodations for a family of six, without paying for two hotel rooms, or renting a cabin. We were pleasantly surprised with the size of the unit. Like the previous reviewer said, some of the furniture needs an update. The pull out couch curved up at the head when we pulled it out. Luckily, our sixth person had to sleep in a pack n play, so person #5 was able to sleep on the folded couch. The beds also creak loudly, so restful sleep was sketchy. The full size kitchen is a plus, and there were plenty of pots and pans to choose from. Also, bring quarters for the washer and dryer. I didn't know I would have to pay, but they fronted me some quarters until I got my hands on some cash, which was nice because we'd been on vacation for four days and were running out of clothes. All of the people we encountered were super helpful. The picture is of one of the water falls in the park, and the other is the view from the lodge balcony towards Deep Creek.

We had the BEST time renting tubes and being a part of the July 4th weekend fun at the lodge. Rented 2 nice tubes for$22 total and paid $5 national park parking at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The sales associates were super friendly and helpful since this was my first time and showed me around and loaded my car. The actual tubing river seems like white water tubing— especially from the topmost put in spot! I rented a life jacket since I am not a great swimmer and it was super helpful. I went under and lost my glasses but these 2 guys who apparently are repeat guests at the lodge found my glasses and returned them to me. Blessed by God, they are, I cannot see without them. Now I know I need to leave my glasses or attach it to my head! Even with the thought that I lost my glasses forever and couldn’t drive, I had the best time of my life! They also had an awesome RIVERFRONT live concert with a folk band across the street with seating, food, and beer. Seems to be a new event but they had a great turnout. You can get details on their facebook page.

Very nice cozy cabin located next to the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. There are tons of things to do and see not to far away from the cabin. Feels like home away from home. In the park there are miles upon miles of trails and there are plenty of places for some deep meditation with zero distractions from the outside world. Walked till I had zero cell reception and then continued another 2 miles. Peaceful serenity 😌

I asked where the take out was, and the person acted like she had no idea what I was talking about, and pointed to where the tubes were. I clarified that I was asking where the takeout for the tubes was in reference to when we were done floating. She pointed map (that was not real helpful, under plexiglass on the counter).

We had an 11-year-old girl get too far ahead and we told her to grab the rope. She got scared and frose and when we got her to let go she wanted to go ashore. While going ashore my friend fell, busted her elbows, and hip, and when we got our entire party ashore, we weren't worried about private property because my friend was bleeding everywhere. We were chased off two private "rental" properties trying to get to a road to call for help, or even administer first aid. We were on rope away. All this to say, you need a better map, and better signage on the river. Because being chased around with a limping, bleeding person is ABSOLUTELY RIDICULOUS!!! The injury may be on us, but poor signage, a staff member that doesn't know what a take out is, and crappy map is ALL YOU. You know you have really RUDE neighborhoods all around you, you should help your guests have a wonderful time. What a...
