Nice camp... Somthing for everybody , Real log cabins , full hookups ,tent area by creek.. Rustic river feel...cool playground.a dozen little goats to feed. Tube the river all day.and it's not crazy slammed , the state park up the street was nuts.just a couple of families tubing when we stayed. We were in a van. Great place to jump off.. Lots of day trips ,Smoky mountains railway .easy waterfall hikes,the damn dam,Brew pubs. casino . Sunday , deep creek missionary baptist is the place to be.good singing, Great preaching.very welcoming to strangers. Find yourself a huge calzone in town,or the iron wok, has good crab rangoon. Awesome staff.. The store was running 2 lines ,and dishing out scoops of ice cream. We appreciate the friendly staff we met. They were dedicated.and the porcelain was always clean. Read moreCould use some stairs between tent camping by the creek and upper level camping so a person doesn't have to walk on the road around. There are a few cut through paths people have made but they are full of poison ivy. Actually there is poison ivy most everywhere off the edge of the mowed grass. There was a tree in our campsite that had poison ivy growing up the side of it, perhaps they could do a better job of trying eliminate this plant from areas frequented by campers.
The Upper levels camp was missing a trash facility so we had to walk the trash down to the lower tent area campground and use theirs.
The staff that checked us in was very nice and the place looked clean. We did not use the onsite restrooms as we had our rv so not sure of their condition.

Read moreLove Bryson City, Deep Creek, and the GSMNP. This is a great campground that my parents brought us to when we were kids. Now we use the area for day hiking and picnics. Very beautiful peaceful nature with the river flowing, pretty wildflowers, nice trails. And if visit in May you see the lovely Mountain Laurel. Restrooms and picnic areas are always clean. Easy trails to 3 great waterfalls! And many miles of moderate trails. In my younger years we hiked the 14 mile trail from Newfound Gap road to Deep Creek. I stay on the shorter trails now. As with all trails in the GSMNP is the disappointing fact that dogs aren't allowed on the trails. But they are allowed in the picnic area, campground, and along roads. Enjoy your time in...
