Just an okay experience.. we got there at 315pm Sunday and weren't able to check in, since our room wasn't ready, so we had a drink downstairs while we waited (They seem to be shorter staffed for housekeeping). We got a room around 530ish. Got up there and hadn't even started unloading the cart yet since we were so tired, and then suddenly our room door opens and another couple got told the same room number and also had keys. It was really awkward and a first I've ever experienced 😅 Felt bad for the other couple even though it wasn't our fault obviously. They had been waiting since 2pm and it was their anniversary weekend trip. The front desk offered to move us rooms, but we ended up staying there afterall since we needed the private bedroom. And pull out couch rather than 2 Queen beds in the same room. We got a $40 voucher to the restaurant and bar that was nice. Burger and appetizer we got were really good. Used the heated pool & hot tub late at 930pm and had it all to ourselves! It was okay, and had great atmosphere, but needs help. Only half of the jets worked. Like 3 on one side and 2 on the other side. Went up to pull my bed out of the couch and the bed wasn't made, the mattress was actually totally naked with no mattress pad at all (honestly a couple stains on it too). We had a blanket and bottom sheet in the closet but needed a cover and other sheet. We called the front desk and they sent Yolanda right away to help us. She was very nice and friendly. Even she was surprised there was no cover on the mattress! I slept pretty good on it! The front desk ended up giving us a discount for the inconvenience upon our check out that was very nice of them. I hope this hotel is able to hire more housekeeping help on the weekends or able to fix these issues from happening ever again to others. I do recommend their foam pillows! The lighting and shape of our room was awkward, I wish they had another lamp on the other side of the couch and a table next to the microwave and fridge. The bathroom was huge and had plenty of space for a tub too, but only...
Read moreIf you are looking for a pet friendly hotel in wine country, look no further!!! This Santa Ynez Valley Marriott is now our go-to place for a fabulous pet-friendly experience. We have recommended it to all of our dog-loving neighbors and to friends who don't have animals as well. The friendly staff and comfortable rooms, along with very affordable pricing make this a perfect spot for anyone and for those who travel with pets, it is simply fantastic.
We needed to tent our house for termite fumigation and needed a place to bring our pet-menagerie---our aging Saint Bernard, young Lab, and middle age cat. The pet fee is per visit and not per pet or night and is very reasonable. The room had outside access to the patio area so we were able to take our pets for a walk often and easily. The room itself was spacious, clean, and even had a small refrigerator for our opened pet food (cat and dog food cans easily fit inside). The faux grey-oak vinyl flooring made cleaning up water spilled from our dog bowls easy and we just did not have any worries about messes with our pets.
The staff were helpful, friendly and made us feel welcome...which to be honest, many pet-friendly hotels are only pet-friendly to small dogs and not so much to big dogs, so the joy the staff showed us when we showed up with our 160 pound Saint Bernard "Bear" in tow was so appreciated! It was also so much fun to lounge outside around the fire pits which had ample seating for pets and people. We met so many interesting people from all over the world and enjoyed chatting with families and their pets.
Make sure you try an Irish Coffee from the bar and then drink it by one of the many fire-pits (I think they have at least 6 -8 different seating areas around individual fire pits). You can enjoy others or you can choose to just have a romantic drink or food with your loved one.
We will definitely be coming back to enjoy this hotel and plan to stay after a day of tasting wine in the Valley. We will not wait until we need to fumigate for termites! See you in the fall for the...
Read moreReason for visiting: celebrating my buddy's 50th so booked a room near their Air BnB. Date/time of visit: Saturday night Parking: adjacent lot.. free! 😀 Party size: 1 Environment/ambience: horrible. I came by to drop off my stuff; they provided early check-in, which was great. Came by, dropped my bag off, and met up with some friends. My room was fine. When I came back later that night, everything smelled gross. The hallways smelled gross, like piss. The rooms smelled pretty gross too, due to some maintenance going on; had stuff coming out of the toilets and shower. Maid service came by and cleaned up and sprayed whatever they could to get the smell out and left the can, just in case.. haha 🤭 Woke up, toilet wasn't flushing and shower was clogged (ran the water and toilets, juuussssttt in case and none worked). Brushed my teeth, got ready, checked out and left. Craziness.. the room was near the pool (121) so you can park by the pool and come in and out easy through the double doors that lead to the pool. But the room was horrible; the doors that lead outside the back (not front door) lock is sketchy b/c they lock outside but the knob inside does jack and ALWAYS opens the door, so you don't REALLY know if that mug is locked. I think it does but I put the chair by it on the inside, haha. Service: best and only good part about the trip. Parking was free, which was awesome; they have Tesla chargers with overnight parking allowed. The host and service crews were awesome; the room was horrible. They were all friendly; front desk offered to talk to her boss for a refund but I just wanted to leave since I had to wait for them to come on shift; wasn't about to shower or use the restroom. This place is near Solvang so you can stay here and take 246 to get to Solvang, which is easy drive. If they ever fix the room situation, maybe a good place for a quick stay Food: didn't eat there but they do have a restaurant Cost: $337 with all the taxes, etc. 2 double beds (they ended up...
