City of Rocks Camp and Climb – A Perfect Base for Adventure! City of Rocks Camp and Climb is THE place to stay. My wife and I spent about five weeks here this summer and had an unforgettable experience. From the owners to the camp hosts, everyone went out of their way to make our stay exceptional. Rancher Steve was a highlight of our trip. He regularly stopped by with his friendly cattle dogs to chat, share advice, and get to know us. His knowledge of the area was invaluable, and his easygoing nature, sense of humor, and warm personality made us feel incredibly welcome. Steve is truly a salt-of-the-earth kind of guy, and his presence added a special touch to our stay. The camp hosts, Ruth and Danny, were equally amazing. From the moment we arrived, they made sure we had everything we needed and looked out for us throughout our visit. By the end of our stay, they felt more like friends than staff. They kept the campsites in top condition, ensured the restrooms were spotless and well-stocked, and maintained an atmosphere of care and hospitality. The location couldn’t be better. Camp and Climb is perfectly situated between the City and Castle Rocks, making it a quick drive to all the climbing and hiking areas. It’s also conveniently close to the visitor center, a gas station/convenience store, and the local pizza and beer spot—everything you could possibly need! The campground itself is fantastic, with excellent facilities, breathtaking scenery, and an unbeatable vibe. Whether you're here to climb, hike, or simply enjoy the stunning surroundings, this is the place to be. They also put in showers!! 5 stars all around! A huge thank you to everyone at City of Rocks Camp and Climb. We will absolutely be back!

Great location and RV park! Showers are the best I’ve seen in an rv park. Super clean and even had vending machines. Steve is top notch! Can’t wait to do a return trip. The pizza place across the street has more than just pizza so you don’t have to run too far or the general store in town also has what you’ll need. Can’t wait to see this RV park continue, happy to support the locals. Easy to access Castle or Elephant rock. Nice to have the picnic tables at the sites as well.

Super great place to stay at the city. The owner Steve is friendly and helpful and I love his doggos that just hang out on the back of his ATV as he drives around checking on how everyone is doing. Bonus points: the CLEANEST, NICEST vault toilet I’ve ever been in. Ever!! Can’t wait to come back. The spots are nicely spaced too. Water and power is sooo handy! Easy access to rock climbing at City of Rocks. One of my favorite places in the world 😁

I just wanted to post a quick review of Camp and Climb campground near City of Rocks Idaho. I had a reservation to camp there in my van. On the day I was supposed to arrive, my van broke down. I contacted the campground about a refund since I would not be able to get to the campground. They gave me a refund with no hesitation or difficulty.

Fortunately, my van was repaired the next day. I ended up being able to get to the campground late that evening. The following day, I met the campground hosts Danny and Ruth. They are so delightful and welcoming and friendly. In addition, they do an incredible job of cleaning and maintaining the campground. VERY clean bathroom, toilet, and campsites.

Also worth noting, my cell service is Google Fi (T-Mobile) and I had full strength, 5G signal in the campground.

I highly recommend Camp and Climb Campground if you are visiting City of...

Steve has built a real gem and is a gracious owner/host. When these trees are mature, this will be the ideal camping spot for tent and RV campers. He offers full elec and water for trailers and RVs and really nice showers for car and tent campers. TMobile and ATT have blazing speed here anyway, but he offers solid wifi for Verizon customers as well. One car camper complained about the wireless, Steve had a technician on it the next day upping the speed and capacity. The wifi worked great for my stay. You can walk to the famous pizza and beer joint just across the way. 10 minutes to Castle Rocks State Park, 15 to the City of Rocks proper. Perfect location if you are climbing both spots and you should, Castle Rocks has every bit as good of climbs as the City. Great value for the amount of capital he has invested in this site. Better priced than most any...
