The Mason Downtown — Hotel in Butler

This place is a real gem. I’ll start with it was my husband, myself and our 18month old. Booking was easy. When we arrived our room was at the Mason on the main road. Which was fine but it was upstairs (completely my fault for not asking about elevators etc.) we had a ton of stuff to carry and I was worried about our toddler going up and down stairs. I called with hopes of being switched to downstairs and although they had nothing downstairs at this location she quickly moved us to the Mason on Moody. Right down the road. It was even better. For one the ac was already on which I appreciated. I’m from south texas and the heat in Alabama is rough! It Had a backyard with nice grass for our little man to play in. Washer and dryer. It’s a duplex. Two bedrooms with queen beds and a bathroom with a tub. Dining table and full kitchen. It has smart TVs also! Such a plus for anyone with kids. The closets had hangers as well which is something small but helped out. This is officially where we will stay from now on when we visit. They man who set the booking was very kind and helpful and the woman that changed our room was...

I am someone that don’t change hotels no matter where I go and will walk away from a room if I feel unsafe or it’s unclean. I was so surprised. The outside was kind of like a boarding house feel but When I walked into my room I was pleasantly surprised. It felt clean and it was clean. I thought I would have to deal with noise like kids running above me but it was sooooo quiet. The room felt so good. It was like an air bnb stay. The only thing I didn’t like was the creaky floors but to me that was personal it did not change how I felt about my stay. I had to wear my glasses to watch tv. It’s a 40in tv (wall mounted) in a royal suite it was small compared to the room but they had way more channels for viewing. All personal has nothing to do with the stay.
