Exactly what you'd expect from a bed and breakfast; small place with 5 rooms, decorated like grandmas house, and warm and welcoming hosts. There were grape vines in the front yard further setting the "getaway weekend in Napa" mood.
The breakfasts each morning were amazing. We had waffles, fresh fruit, eggs benedicts and a frittata (with a soufflé like consistency) that were made with eggs from their own chickens!
Our room was the one with the bathroom across the hall. We were the only ones that could use it, so although not ideal, it was perfectly fine for us. I appreciated the robes and slippers they provided. The room was a good size for 2 ppl.
The only negative was that our host mixed up the dates of our stay, and blamed us before double checking their appointment book. They realized they were wrong and ultimately the mix up didn't affect our stay other than a couple awkward encounters, so it...
Read moreWhat a jewel! Don't miss this hidden treasure in Calistoga! I was staying with my wife mid September for 4 nights. We live in the central coast area, so the drive was not that long. The place is offset from the street and has it's own little vineyard in front. A little farm, 4 acres, with free running chickens and cats. They also have two lovely dogs. The appeal is of an historic Victorian style house. We stayed upstairs. Dennis and Marjorie are wonderful hosts. Great breakfast in the morning in the Greenhouse like room. Every morning they made something different. Happy hour starts at 4:30pm. Dennis and Marjorie engage talks with the guest which we enjoyed very much. There is also a swimming pool and a hot tub. A free bus service picks you up and drops you off. We would have loved to stay longer and have...
Read moreCalistoga's a little town, so it's not unusual to find accommodations on the outskirts. This lovely bed and breakfast inn is a short drive to the center of town as well as to other attractions. Best of all, Dennis and Margie are perfect hosts, offering guests appetizing afternoon nibbles with their own excellent red wine and sumptuous breakfasts. All in a beautiful old house that's been lovingly maintained and updated. Views from most rooms include the on-site vineyard, pool or chicken coop. Our room was huge and so comfortable. However the claw foot tub in the bathroom was a little tricky to get in and out of. You might want to bring...
