Local Q 707 — Restaurant in Calistoga

Had a Canadian Client do small private road tour for real estate. They came across this little grill. My client is all about local business appeal. Let me tell you of their experience that as a first timer and their advice. First off I would look into either training the current manager on people skills or looking for a new one. What they saw was the manager critique employees in front of costumers, ignore customers due to her cell phone usage. They saw customers waiting for approx 15 min to order. When it came to ordering food the burgers were really good along with the smoked meat. They do suggest adding ingredients of sauces as they asked if they contained nuts and the manager said "No peanuts" when in actuality they were asking for the nut family group. The coleslaw had no taste literally. Sides are signature to a place like this. These clients plan on making frequent trips here's hoping something is looked at to better this grill. As soon as I walked in - I knew the food was going to be great!

Staff was friend, courteous, and kind. Mom got a tenderloin sandwich, Dad got the triptip, kid got chicken strips, and fried chicken was split between me and my wife.

Easily some of the best fried chicken I've had. Cooked perfectly and well seasoned. No clue what it was, but it immediately reminded me of goof homemade fried chicken I had in the south. Fries and cornbread were perfect too.

The food was so good, we got a brisket sandwich and extra cornbread on the way out.

We tried a bit of the brisket and it was amazing. As someone that smokes brisket at home, I feel like I know good brisket - theirs is waaaay better than mine and mine is pretty good. I usually shy away from brisket at restaurants because I'm so damn picky about it. Only tried theirs because everything else we had was amazing.

TLDR: Eat here - if you stick to a protein you enjoy, I'm pretty sure...

Very good food, the smoke on the ribs is immaculate you can really taste it in each bite. The brisket is juicy and delicious and so goes for the pulled pork. When these are served it would be great to get a couple slices of bread to soak up the juice, I guess the sandwich may accomplish that?

The sides are all delicious, especially a fan of the macaroni salad. Oh, and the tots are fantastically crispy. I enjoyed sitting outside on a nice partly cloudy day and eating this meal, thanks to the friendly folk here for that. Just giving it a 4 star because without some of the extras like getting some more sauce or the breads, etc. I feel like these are things I see at other bbq spots I would just assume come...
