The Lodge at Keen Lake — Hotel in Canaan Township

I love staying at the Lodge! I spent my first weekend here in December 2018, and have come back several times since. The condos are beautiful (decorated during the holiday season in December), and so comfortable. Full Kitchen for all your needs, dining area, outdoor patio. The lodge is about 20 minutes from Scranton (awesome in the winter to hit Montage Mountain and some good dining spots), and 10 minutes or so from Honsedale (small business shops and great restaurants- check out the brewery). When the weather is nicer Prompton state park is nearby which offers hiking trails (also water falls!). The grounds at the Lodge are beautiful for walking over to Keen lake as well. We had to be in the area last minute. It was almost impossiblle finding a place in the Honesdale/Hawley area. But boy did we luck out. We stayed in a cottage (2 family cottage with separate entrances) by the lake. Literally - the like was right out back. The 2 story cottage was clean and comfortable with 2 bedrooms and a full kitchen. Window airconditioners worked great to keep us cool even in the 90 degree weather. The management went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and help us with any questions. In addition to the cottage, they also have a lodge with rooms/condos, we didn't stay there, but I am sure they are equally well taken care of. I cannot praise this property and staff enough. The lodge accommodations are like condos or villas. We stayed in the large unit. The space would be great for a family or 2 couples traveling together. ||It was exceptionally clean and well appointed. The furnishings were nicely done. The unit had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Unlike a lot of places at which I've stayed, The Lodge at Keen Lake had a plethora of lighting, outlets, and storage. The kitchen and bath were updated. ||The owner was absolutely lovely and resourceful. She has a store in a nearby town that I would have loved to have visited but unfortunately the timing did not work out well. ||If ever I find myself in the area, I'd be happy to stay...
