Let me first say, my husband and I have stayed in Select Registry and other Bed and Breakfast's all over the U.S. and Canada for over 40 years. On this occasion my sister and I were celebrating our mom's 85th birthday. The location (Colonial Heights district) was super convenient to EVERYTHING including Gervasi Vineyard; other beautiful homes were a surprise to see on Market Street as well. We stayed in Della's suite because it offered two bedrooms within the suite. The room decor, linens and beds were so nice, and it was very quiet. The shower as well as the jetted spa tub were great not to mention the thick, soft towels and green tea bath products! The suite was immaculate including the ceiling fan and included home baked cookies in three varieties! The character of this old home with its high ceilings and many windows combined with the light, soft touches by the owners was perfect for us. We thoroughly enjoyed playing scrabble in the dining room in the evening and being cozy in the sunroom or living room. Coffee, tea and water were always available. The owners were so welcoming with asking beforehand about any food restrictions and making Mom feel special on her 85th birthday. They made her a special cake, and even hung a hand-crafted Happy Birthday banner across the windows in our suite. The hospitality from the owners was impeccable. I would not hesitate to recommend this bed and breakfast to my dearest friends (I already have) and would gladly bring my husband back here with me for another stay. All the baked goods and breakfast were made by the host and were delicious. We saved a nice bit of money too over the other wonderful option we were considering. Actually, this place suited our needs better than anything else in the area could have. We were there in late January, and it was freezing cold outside, but we felt nothing but warmth. Thanks to the owners for sharing your...
Read moreMy wife and I wanted a place to meet my brother and sister in law somewhere in between Pittsburgh and Detroit for my wife's birthday and I happened upon this B&B (we live near Detroit and they live near Pittsburgh) We were looking for a hotel but found this delightful place. None of us 4 had ever stayed in a B&B and boy, did we choose the right place!
From the time we walked in the door of this beautiful, antique filled home, Carrie was very friendly and welcoming. She showed us to our room (Oscar's) where we found delicious, home made cookies and even house shoes to wear. We found the home, our room and bathroom VERY clean and cozy. It was a quiet, calm atmosphere in the home.
Tha garden area is well maintained with plenty of places to sit and relax. There is a fire pit to use as well when weather permits. (unfortunately it rained) There are yard games like corn hole and yard yahtzee for entertainment.
The breakfast was absolutely delicious! We had the baked French Toast and sausage. There is also a bowl of fresh cut fruit to enjoy.
I highly recommend this place and we're already planning another trip. I give it 5 stars across the board. From the cleanliness, hospitality, service, atmosphere and food down to the host, this place is a must stay in my opinion if your in the Canton Ohio area.
Thanks so much Carrie. You will see us again and wish you...
Read moreThis was our favorite bed and breakfast stay, ever! I am extremely picky when it comes to two things. The beds and the food. Both of these were excellent!! The bed was comfy just the right amount of sheets and pillows. High-quality. Great mattress great pillows. The best homemade chocolate chip cookies we’ve ever had waiting in a little package on our beds. I would probably eat 12 of these!! Our breakfast in the morning was the fluffiest pancakes and cheesy frittata that we’ve ever experienced. I can’t say enough about the quality of the food. You can tell very good ingredients are used. Breakfast was made with care and served with a wonderful smile. We enjoyed our conversations with the hosts. They were friendly and informative of the area. They directed us to no less than five excellent places to eat. Did he give you didn’t leave the bed and breakfast because the space was so charming. We felt very comfortable hanging out in the common rooms. Enjoyed the biscotti and tea and coffee bar. It was our 15 year anniversary and we had gorgeous flowers waiting for us in our room. I also love the macramé made by one of the owners. And we purchased that for Christmas gifts. We absolutely cannot wait to come back!! I do believe this will be a yearly tradition for our anniversary....
