There is something wrong with the way this hotel is ran. My husband and I checked in here around 5am on 10/13/20. We were traveling from New Mexico back home to Alabama, after visiting a sick family member. We were exhausted, and chose this hotel because it was priced at $54 a night online. The gentleman that checked me in was very rude. I asked if he had a room available, he took my ID and debit card, swiped it without confirming the price with me, tossed my ID and debit card back, then walked away. I had to ask for a receipt, which he gave me after giving me a dirty look. When I saw the receipt, the estimated total upon check out was over $100. I said “I’m sorry, but that is too much, I’m going to have to get a refund and go somewhere else. I thought it was only going to be around $50.” (If I wanted to spend that much, there was a Hampton Inn not too far away with much nicer rooms). I told him I saw the price online, he raised his voice and said “Show me.” I grabbed my cell phone and showed him, and he scrolled down and clicked a different link which showed the price listed as $79. Keep in mind, that is still less than he was trying to charge me. I apologized again, and said “Okay, I’m going to have to get my money back and go somewhere else.” He said “I can lower the price to $79.” When I asked for a refund again, he said “I can lower it to $69.” I asked for a refund again, he said “I can lower it to $59, that’s the best I can do.” My husband and I were exhausted, so we finally said we’d take the room, since that was close to what we thought it would be originally. It was around 5am when we checked in, then we checked out at 11am. When I checked in, I first asked for a smoking room. There weren’t any available, so my husband and I smoked outside before heading to bed. When I checked out, the same gentleman was at the front desk. I gave him the room key, and he glared at me and said “You didn’t smoke in the room did you?” I said “No, I didn’t.” He replied, “Okay, if we find anything in there we’re going to charge you $250.” I replied, “I didn’t smoke in the room.” I asked for my receipt, thanked him and left. I felt like he was accusing me, when he had no reason to. I am an honest person, and I treated him respectfully the whole time. Even though he was very rude to me. I appreciate him lowering the price, but there is no excuse for his attitude or behavior. I work in customer service, and would never treat a customer this way. On top of everything; shortly after we left the hotel, we got a fraud alert from our bank. Someone had tried to test out my husband’s debit card, by running it for $0.00. Thank goodness the card that someone tried to steal from had no money on it. We never use that card, and it was still in my wallet. I do not know for sure who did it, but we think it’s odd that we got the fraud alert about an hour after we left the hotel. Someone should really look into it. The gentleman at the hotel, and the area in general seemed shady to me. I didn’t feel safe there. Even if this somehow happened back in New Mexico, there is no excuse for the way we were treated. We are good, honest people. All we wanted was a place to rest for a few hours, so we could make it home safely. I will never stay at this hotel, or any hotel affiliated with it ever again. I hope this review will stop someone else from being mistreated, and possibly...
Read moreThe manager Drew is a shady guy. I booked with Priceline and we had trouble with the system(Priceline was great in handling all of it) and had to cancel my Priceline reservation and they agreed to honor the Priceline praise as long as I rebooked immediately with the hotel. So I rebooked and the next day Priceline charged my account for a night stay. I called Priceline and they said the manager Drew said he wouldn’t authorize the cancellation. I have the receipt in hand and a email receipt from Priceline. I called Drew and he said it was Pricelines problem so I called Priceline back and they called Drew AGAIN! He said no I won’t authorize the cancellation AGAIN. Luckily Priceline is going to refund the money and has escalated to process to get their money back. He basically charged me for 2 bookings in one night in his low rate hotel. The night clerk was good at his job and very helpful but management makes this hotel a no go for me in the future and maybe other Days Inn hotels also. Very disappointed in the lack of decency. I was traveling for an emergency and had to stop before I fell asleep or I wouldn’t have stayed...
Read moreWe arrived late and the desk clerk was not too happy. She didn’t explain to us where our room was or anything about the motel. I read about breakfast from 6-9am on a flyer plastered to the window. We got to our room and the room was nice however the bathroom had a roof leak and mold covering the ceiling. Could deal with that. Later the light went out in the bathroom. Could deal with that even though using the restroom and showering in the dark by phone flashlight isn’t ideal. Before we went to bed within an hour of arriving the heater went entirely out. After sleeping in the truck the night before we just covered up and dealt with it. Went down this morning and they have a couple granola bars for their breakfast. The ever so pleasant desk clerk also locked the door to the main desk and just got in her car and left…. While leaving the key in the main door. The gentleman sitting next to us also told us that his door did not lock to his room… I suppose I’m great full that our door at least closed and locked. I wouldn’t...
