Had a great stay at this gem of a hotel. Not even a mile away from the beach and several food options, including In ‘n Out. Maybe only 3 miles from Carlsbad Village with awesome restaurants, bars and shops. Also about a 5 min car ride to the flower fields and Carlsbad outlet mall. It’s right next to the freeway but we couldn’t hear it at all from in the room. It’s also next to the train tracks and we could faintly hear it from in the room, not bothersome whatsoever though. The room we booked was perfect for our high-energy toddler because it was so spacious. It’s called the Premier Double King Suite. It had a small living room that was separate from the bedroom, and both rooms had a TV, which allowed my husband and I to watch TV in the living room on the pullout couch after putting our daughter down for bed in the other room. We also had a decent selection of movies on demand and a little wet bar area with mini fridge and microwave. Having two king beds was actually what sold us on the room, I feel like you don’t find that option very often. The beds aren’t firm at all so keep that in mind if you need a firm bed to sleep on. We asked for tons of extra pillows which we were provided right away. We were accommodated with a tub as well, so that we could give our daughter a bath after the beach. Anything we asked the front desk for we were provided quickly. The AC in our room worked great. The pool and jacuzzi looked nice even though we didn’t get to use either. We saw several people having fun out there and our toddler loved watching them through the window since our room overlooked the area. The best part was the availability of food and snacks! Nightly from 8-9pm they had complimentary milk & cookies..such a thoughtful and unique touch. They had a large selection of snacks and drinks at the front desk that you could charge to your room and pretty sure it’s open 24/7? The daily breakfast buffet included in our stay was super convenient and we LOVED the waffle machine. Just fyi, both restaurants they used to have on site closed down but one of them is expected to open back up around July 2022…can’t remember what type of food they said it would be but it won’t be the same as before which I think was a steakhouse. Parking was easy and we didn’t have to use the underground parking because there was open parking right outside the main entrance. I’m guessing parking may be fuller in the summer months and on weekends, we stayed Sunday-Wednesday for a Mother’s Day getaway. They also have what looked to be their own gas station on site and although we didn’t need to fuel up, it was nice knowing it was right there. Several people mentioned in other reviews issues they had with their room key getting deactivated but we didn’t have this issue with either of our keys during our stay. I did make it a point to keep the keys separate from our phones just in case that had something to do with it. We would definitely stay here again whenever we visit Carlsbad. Hopefully I covered everything and our review is helpful for...
Read moreMy husband, our 7 year old and I stayed here for 1 night on 9/13 after a day at Legoland and let me tell you it was HANDS DOWN one of the BEST hotel experiences we've ever had, and we travel often. We chose this hotel based solely off of reviews since some of the other hotels in Carlsbad had horrendous reviews about bed bugs, mold etc. The first thing we noticed is how close in proximity to Legoland the hotel was no more than 5 minutes just under the freeway. After a long and tiring day at the theme park it was nice to be so close. When I walked to check in the hotel smelled so nice and clean it was very quiet and the woman at the front desk who helped me ( I tried to remember her name but I know it started with an M) was so kind and she was so helpful checking us in, we even got upgraded from a king suite to a double king suite which my son absolutely loved since it meant he had his own king bed for the night. The hotel is a decent size but not so big that you get lost or have trouble walking around finding your room all we could notice in the hotel when walking through was that it was so clean and quiet. When we walked into our room we were all amazed at the sheer size of the room and just how nice everything looked we walked into a living room area that had its own TV a small kitchenette that had a microwave and a mini fridge and of course the pull-out couch we continue to walking a little more in which had a huge bathroom with a matching walk-in shower all of the amenities we needed were included such as body lotion shampoos conditioners and body gels as well as plenty of towels just past the bathroom was the main bedroom which as mentioned had two King beds another TV plenty of storage space for clothes and suitcases and another little sitting area near the window. Although we didn't go down to the pool, we could see the pool from our window and it looked like a great size with plenty of seating around it. From 8:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. they offer cookies and milk with individually wrapped cookies and that was definitely a highlight for my husband and son. Although our room was right off of the elevator we both agreed in the morning that we didn't hear a single person and the beds were so comfortable all three of us had an amazing night sleep. In the morning my son and I went down to breakfast which was included for free and the selections were awesome the breakfast area to sit was also kept very clean and it was a nice comfortable place to enjoy breakfast before checking out. Overall my husband and I both said we would love to come stay at this hotel again soon and find other fun things to do in Carlsbad just so we have a reason to go back to this hotel. Compared to other hotels in the area that we've seen double the price we paid here and nowhere near as spacious, clean or nice this is absolutely a 5 STAR ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐...
Read moreI was blown away by this hotel and our amazing stay here. Overall, it was perfect for our family of four with small kiddos.
Pros: -The amenities!! $20/ day resort fee but I say it was worth the money for all we got. -Nightly cookies and milk offered in the lobby was so sweet. My older son loved the concept and looked forward to it every night. -Daily hot breakfast. Not the best food in the world but it satisfied our family just fine. Also saved us about $20-50 a day on going out to breakfast. They had bacon, sausage, eggs, pancakes, french toast, bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, fresh fruit and more. The coffee was palatable but we ended up getting Starbucks every day because we love our caffeine! -They had beach equipment you could request. We got chairs, an umbrella, beach towels and beach toys. It was perfect for our day out at the beach. They also are less than 5 minutes from Taramack beach which is perfect for families. -The pool was heated and warm enough for our infant to swim in. It was even warm enough to swim at 7am! Pool area was very swanky as well. -The beds are comfortable, soft and plush. Lots of pillows and there is even pillows in the closet. I love my pillows and this satisfied me. -The hotel was clean, the staff was nice and accommodating and the housekeeping was amazing. -They have a small pantry where you can buy chips, drinks and candy. -You could check out movies from the front. This was awesome when we needed a little down time after being out in the sun all day. -You could also check out different board games which was fun. -The room was clean and the decor was really swanky. The shower inside of our room was also huge -they had a fancy steakhouse and a gas station with the minimart with in the same parking lot. We didn’t eat at the restaurant that we did fill up at the gas station which was a big convenience -they had a nice central AC unit in the room and the temperature control was very good on it
Cons: -The location isn’t great. It is kind of settled between a lot of business parks and some kind of refinery plant. It is only five minutes from the beach in about five minutes away from Legoland but nothing is within walking distance. -They do provide shuttle is but you have to let them know in our advance when you want to be picked up or dropped off. We decided to park at Legoland with their own car the next day so that we can leave whenever we wanted.
Overall, I would stay here again when traveling to San Diego. Our family really enjoyed our stay and I felt like the amenities really made it easy on two...
