The hospitality at this lodge was amazing! While we were still half an hour from arriving the host called us and asked us if we had eaten yet. She recommend the most kid friendly places along our route, so that we could eat before arriving. It was the kindest gesture. ||When we arrived she sat down with me and told me about all the best food and stops in the area. She then showed me the rooms in detail. She told us to call if we needed anything, but we didn't! ||We had adjoined queen rooms with a kitchenette, which was perfect for our group of 7 including 3 kids. The mini fridge was able to fit quite a lot that I had packed in a cooler for our trip. ||We only saw other guests once in the parking lot the whole time we were there, and the parking lot was full when we arrived. It was a lovely quiet stay.||The rooms had one firm bed and one plush bed, which was perfect! We slept well! ||The location was perfect for our itinerary. We took the cog up Mt. I spent quite a bit of time researching off the beaten path types of places in the Incredible White Mountains, and feel fortunate to have run across this gem.
From the minute we checked in, and met Miss Carol, her wonder pets and daughter who happened to be there for the weekend, we felt like we never left home...except we were in the Incredible White Mountains.
Simple little things, including Croquet already set up, as was the Badminton net and the great interaction with her four legged kids was one of the highlights of our 2 week excursion in that part of the Country.
I am hoping to parlay a Ski trip to the NE area in the future, and if I do, there is zero doubt I will stay here.
Any chance we get to travel to the NE again will certainly have us staying again...and the entire family is hoping it happens.
Thanks to the entire Carlson Clan for a wonderful time. Hopefully our paths will cross...
Read moreMy wife, son and I visited Carlson"s Lodge in January 2017. We spent a few days skiing and snowshoeing. The place was cozy, comfortable and the rooms we stayed in were very spacious and clean. We had 2 rooms both with sitting areas and bathrooms connected by a door. And you can't beat the price!! The lobby looks like someone's living room. The breakfast area is also very quaint. The breakfast is VERY basic but it was enough for us. They have a game area in the basement that has a pool table, ping pong table and a few other games. It also has a treadmill you can use if you have any energy after skiing. It is a family business with an interesting history, and family pictures adorn the walls which we found so nice. We had a lot of contact with one of the daughters, and she was so friendly and helpful. We would DEFINITELY...
