Americas Best Value Inn Celina — Hotel in Celina

I wish I could give 0 stars. Upon arrival, I must have accidentally booked a smoking room. There were no non smoking rooms available to accommodate us, so we decided to stay. With the upcoming eclipse, there were no other hotels available nearby. Upon entry to our room, we got ready for bed and one of the beds had a yellow, moist ring throughout the bedding. Urine? I went to the customer service desk and was told they could transfer me to another smoking room. That room key would not work, so we were told we could return to the original room with new sheets. The worker accused us of making the bedding wet as one of my daughters had a squirt gun. I was shocked. He became rude and wouldn’t speak to us. We thanked him for the new sheets, no reply or acknowledgement of us. The returning room key again would not work but he did fix it and opened the door for us. We thanked him , again he didn’t even speak or acknowledge us! I changed the sheets and gave my kids the other bed. I am incredibly disappointed and wildly uncomfortable. The room (aside from the linens) is dirty. I am so upset as this cost us 140ish dollars. We are very far from home and have a volleyball tournament in the morning nearby, or I’d go right home. For our needs, location is everything and this property was a wonderful location. Nice being so close to the restaurants of Celina & Grand Lake St. Mary's which is the lovely view from the hotel rooms. The rooms are comfortable & clean, though could use a bit of refreshing. Staff is very nice. Housekeepers Faye & Michelle were helpful in providing amenities not in room when we checked in. Breakfast was basic; cereal, yogurt, fruit, packaged pastries; waffle maker. Coffee very good. ||The only complaint we had was the parking lot. A single row of diagonal parking spaces directly across from rooms. While convenient to rooms, we found the parking spots difficult to navigate. The parking spots were so close to the rooms that upon departure, a toddler ran out of a first floor room directly behind our vehicle as we were backing out. He was so small that he did not activate our rear detection system. I happened to see the little guy and we avoided a tragic accident. Shame on oblivious parent, but that is another topic for...

This hotel so ahh 🥀🥀🥀 But in all seriousness someone definitely smoked weed in this non smoking room. Tons of bugs, and webs, and even the shower has the bugs. My suggestion, ditch the cable tv, get an exterminator. Also, body hair found underneath sheets, along side a urine stain. The fridge is good until you actually look deeper at it. The microwave is just weird. The no smoking sign hasn’t done anything for the last 15 years I assume. The air conditioner isn’t terrible, if you don’t mind cooking like in an oven in your room. The coffee machine give you coffee about the size of a shot. Oh and you think the bathroom is safe? You are more likely to be safe in the streets of Compton throwing up blood than in that restroom. The light is open, which isn’t good with water. The dude at the counter isn’t very good, and he straight up said he didn’t know what was happening. Save yourself the hassle, sleep in your car. Tbh I’d rather sleep in the streets of Chicago than sleep...
