Chatham Seafarer Inn was conveniently located, easy to get to, easy to book, and easy to stay at. They were very accommodating, when we first checked in, all you heard from us was, “this is so perfect, look how cute!” We stayed in the end unit of the Boxwood style rooms, that are directly around the corner on Ridgevale Road, number 21. The view from the back slider, seeing this beautiful blossoming apple tree and pool area totally had us making note that we really “made out”! My mom noticed that the little seating area outside our sliders had two chairs but no table “like the other units”. So I went to the office, and asked if we could have a table also. Plus I asked if the gas grill that we spied in the back corner of the grounds was avail for our use. He was very nice and told me that yes, we could use the grill and yes, he would find us a table. Then, off we went to the stop and shop, (per mgmt directions) to get some supplies for our mini vaca mom n daughter getaway. Came back to the room, and there was mom’s table, she was thrilled! We went off to explore, (our little three night excursion was solely for scoping out A. the area; and B. the week long rental home we booked for the end of June), returned, and tried out the beds. Absolutely heavenly, the mattresses could not be more comfortable, the pillows, they were a mix of fluffy and flat, to our astonishment, giving us the choice for how we like to pile them up for reading and tv and relaxing. As for the shower, not exactly “blasting”, but the hot water was hot enough, if you KEEP TURNING THE FAUCET PAST THE “H”. Not hard to decipher. The water pressure that another review mentioned is not so bad as to knock off a rating star, and really can’t call it an “issue”. We were wowed and would recommend it for anyone, even a small family of three or four could make do with the kitchenette and gas grill. Our only disappointment was that the heated pool wasn’t open yet. So, in summary, the updates that they’ve made here are wonderful, the kitchenette was handy, it looked practically brand new and the management is attentive, and helpful. Oh and the WiFi was as good as it gets, or as...
Read more(Spent a solid week here.) To start, the beds are very firm. In case you were worried about that. Our room had 2 beds, a mini fridge, and a mini cooktop. Other than that, just a normal room. Well... I'm not sure what to say here... I wanted to love this place, but I don't. -The first night we got there the water in the shower was borderline just flat out cold. I let the front desk know, the water was a little better, but never really what I would call hot. I took lukewarm showers all week. -Me and the ants in the bathroom that is. Yes, ants crawling all over the bathroom sink and counter. -Be prepared to provide your own wifi somehow, theirs really doesn't work. I alerted the front desk to the wifi issue, but I guess it couldn't be fixed? -The floors are all like a fake? laminate wood, so bring extra socks or something to wear if you don't like walking around with dirty feet in your room. -Speaking of the floors, I equate them to a trailer home, in that walking on them shakes the walls. It must be a pier and beam construction. I felt like the jolly green giant. -The person that comes in to clean the room would continually open the bathroom window, letting in 45F air and wind all day while we were out, making the room very "cool" by the time we returned. I'm not hip, I like being fairly warm. -Now this last one is a bit of a conspiracy theory, but we THINK the cleaning person turned the fridge in the room all the way down/off. And we had some food in there. I cannot provide proof, but myself and the person who was with me would NOT have done this. We had food and drinks in there, it would NOT make sense for us to do this. I believe it was the staff, however I want to be clear that I cannot provide proof.
TL;DR - Overall, meh... I'll give 3 stars instead of less, purely because the staff was...
Read moreWe stayed at the Chatham Seafarer inn mid week from Wed thru Saturday 6/15-18/22 and it was exactly what I was looking for; a clean, friendly and central Cape Location!
The rooms were very clean, large, and bright and sunny, (We got a week of sun :-) ) and using this hotel as our base, enjoyed the quaint town of Chatham, taking in all the Main Street shops, the Chatham Lighthouse, The Fish Pier.
We had a Day 1, Day 2 and Day 3 plan from This hotel, and enjoyed the National Seashore beaches, Nauset Lighthouse and then ventured on Day 3 to enjoy Provincetown and all the quaint and unique shops and of course the Pilgrim Tower which even had a museum with free admission, so it seemed, as we walked in to the many rooms of art, exhibits and then meandered to Commercial street for the day, dining and returning back to our ‘home’ away from home at the end of the day.
The end of day accommodations were great and recommendations were made for Breakfasts, as the Hotel does not have a food service, but dining at the Chatham Airport (as recommended) was excellent and Fun!! (Hanger B) it is called.
Robert was very accommodating as the Hotel Manager and the services folks were friendly, kind and conversant.
We enjoyed the singing of Alicia the wonderful service manager, a Jamaican woman with a voice so beautiful, it was a pleasure to hear her singing as we made our morning way, she delighted us with her voice.
I have been on Cape over the years, but had been away for several and this year, wanted to take in the beauty of All of Cape Cod and we were NOT disappointed to call the Chatham Seafarer Inn our “home’’ at the end of the day!!
I would highly recommend the Chatham Seafarer Inn to anyone looking for an affordable, clean, and wonderful...
