Extremely rude front desk lady with my father and I, on separate occasions, during my family's recent stay (July 7-9, 2017). My Dad (senior citizen) volunteered out of love to be my "shuttle service" for the weekend with our family car that I bought a campground parking pass for. We had one car for the whole family and he spent less than 3 minutes coming in and out of the park to pick me up and drop me off. The front desk lady wanted him and everyone else in the car to pay for a separate pass because they were "coming to visit" me every time they came in and out of the park, $10 per person per day. What!!!!!! I asked for the manager. She too was rude and unhelpful. Both the front desk lady and the manager said that the parking pass I bought is not "per car," it is "per person in the car." So, the parking pass I bought was "for me" and not anyone else in the vehicle coming to pick me up. WHAT A SCAM!!!! That would have been $40 per day for my family of 4 to come and pick me up and drop me off at the park. The facility itself is nice, but the front desk lady and manager definitely need some customer service refresher training! We were shocked!! We are avid and long-time campers across the USA. We have never, ever seen this behavior before from any campground staff in all our years!!! I told the front office staff that I was going to personally contact the campground owners and to get me their contact info and they gave my father his $10 back. I put my purchased parking pass in the car for the weekend and they did not bother my family for the rest of the weekend.
Campers beware of the "Parking pass per person at $10/day" instead of a purchased parking pass per car scam!!!!
I am a Good SAM Chapter President in Georgia (Ch 15). I will be reporting this incident to Good SAM -- they need to know since this is a "Good SAM" rated park. Their customer service rating is totally bogus!!
Because of their poor and totally rude customer service, we will never be returning to this park.
I feel bad for the owners -- their park is beautiful, but they need to replace those 2 employees pronto and stop...
Read moreThis excellent campground, fka Timberline or Anderson KOA, was recently acquired by RJourney RV Parks. Why they named it “Muncie RV Resort” is beyond me. The campground is on the edge of Anderson, Indiana and Muncie is 20 miles away, making a Google search kind of challenging.||We’ve stayed here annually for 12 +/- years and one of our favorite campgrounds. Seasonal sites all have late-model units, and those sites are impeccably kept,||Hookups are all newer and well-kept, water is softened, excellent water pressure. Pull through sites are nicely graded gravel with grass lawns. Back-in sites are mostly concrete pads.||No pool. However, there is a large pond with a swimming area. I wouldn’t go in it, but it seems to be enjoyed by others. The property is ringed by a hiking trail carved along the top of an earthen berm, some of it in the woods, some open and shaded. On the other side of the berm is the White River. Unfortunately, the campground has allowed access to the river to be overgrown and impassable. There is an offshoot trail to “the island” in the river, but the area is unfishable and you can’t get to the other side of the island.||Now, the reason for the 2-star deduction: The WIFI is awful. Verizon cellphone reception is spotty there, and one can only pick up 4 TV channels with a standard RV antenna. Supposedly two hotspots (8/2022), but we could only pick up one. The signal was so weak and unreliable, it was impossible to stream to the TV or even watch YouTube on laptops. Just trying to get email was maddening. Worse, wife had to work from the camper, requiring decent WIFI. It was impossible, even during the week when there weren’t many campers there. Luckily, we had access to someone’s high-powered WIFI hotspot device able to pick up a cell signal better than our phones and push-out strong WIFI. For future working trips, we’ll have to find another campground or buy a good WIFI hotspot device. Still, in this day-and-age, at $60/night with no pool, we expect robust WIFI. Shoot, even some state campgrounds have free strong...
Read moreThis KOA far exceeded expectations, not just for KOA but for ANY RV park/campground. Due to a motor vehicle accident, we had an immediate need to find a place, presumably for an extended period of time, to determine driveability of my tow vehicle and trailer. Called and reserved a space for 5 nights, with an option for 4 additional. Upon arrival, greeted by super friendly staff that I'd talked to on the phone. Very willing to work with us on getting a good site, presumably for a longer stay. Guided to our site, and helped in to a very nice, level full hookup site. The grounds of this KOA are immaculate, and the attention to detail by the maintenance staff is very evident. The sites are very well laid out, with a mixture of sites, from "premium" to tent sites. We were in the section for 30amp FHU. A dump station on site in addition to sewer available. There's also a nice pond and walking trail around the grounds. Upon determining that my tow vehicle was safe to drive, I went to the office and advised them I would not be needing to stay 5 or 9 days, and that would could depart the following morning. No Problems! They refunded the amount that I'd paid in advance. I can't say enough good things about the folks at this KOA and their willingness to help us out after the trauma of a vehicle wreck. I highly recommend this KOA and would stay there again in...
