Cypress Inn & Suites Washington by OYO — Hotel in Chocowinity

This was horrifying. Absolutely unacceptable for any hotel/motel business. Smoke detector didn't work this is just a hazardous lawsuit waiting to happen (UPDATE!!! i called and spoke with the manager or owner about the fire alarm being like this. they know about it and do it intentionally they are fully aware of this). I swear it looked as if someone was presently in this room they gave us. Bed was dirty ,pillow cases dirty, staining everywhere ,old food on floor and walls just splattered also in fridge, in and on microwave. Had to choose what to plug in the AC or light no plugs. Cobwebs everywhere. Dust everywhere. Food and questionable spots on everything. Questionable stain on bed, looks like a medical bed cover, dirty ripped sheets, food spillage on doors. Bathroom still dirty, body hair on "clean" towels, drool marks on pillow. the carpets had a stick to them i could not walk without shoes. the smoke smell was overwhelming. everything had a grim on it , like someone used oil to cook to cook something in there and it was airborne causing dust to cake on it.

Im still trying to figure out what rooms are they posting as advertisement it must be one room no one stats in its just for the show and pictures. even the stair case is falling apart it has rusted out holes and it dont look any kind of safe. on the top floor the waling path to the room is not level its like rolling hills this makes me question the whole building and safety of it.

I was in utter shock walking in this room. The pictures they post is completely false advertising. A new coat of paint ain't helping this place. Look else where it's not worth staying. I couldn't stay we checked out an hour later....

Went there for 4th of July weekend. Haven't traveled at all since Covid. Really was concerned about bringing those nasty little bugs back home (you know which ones I mean)! Use to stay here years ago when our choir sang near here. Wasn't very happy with the place then. Well, I guess they've made some improvements, besides changing the name, kinda hard to figure out where the improvements were made, tho. Our reserved room was a bust. After my thorough inspection before bringing in anything, I noticed a suspicious movement behind the headboard of the bed, the toilet would not flush, sofa cushions were not clean, wood furniture was quite beat up. Desk chair was in terrible shape. I immediately went to the front desk to get another room. The guy was very nice about the whole situation and gave us another room. Did my same inspection on the room. At least there weren't any creepy crawlers seen and the toilet worked ok. Pretty much the same as far as the furnishings goes, tho. They really need to get some better furnishings for the rooms. At least the a/c worked well, considering how hot it was, thank goodness. Not much near the hotel, food wise, even a store. Nothing offered by the hotel in the morning, like coffee, etc. As the saying goes, "You get what you pay for". $49 a night here, don't...

The hotel environment is serene and quiet the guest there are quiet also it’s peaceful however the conditions are very poor the initial room I was in was so filthy trash was everywhere and dead as well as alive roaches were scattered over the bathroom the Manager had to switch me and my wife to a cleaner room which still had dirt and hairs in the sink it’s as if no one cleans up behind the guest that leave. We spoke with someone about the issue once again upon trying to extend our stay where they said the previous man lied about being the manager and saying we have to switch to another room without warning for a handicapped guest . The people at the front desk are shady they always leave the hotel unattended also they treat guest with attitudes and the towels and rags are also not properly cleaned they appear dirty. I extended my stay twice online with no issues now all of a sudden paying online is a issue also I work so I don’t always have the time to go to the front desk so online pay is convenient for me . Now they are telling me I have to check out first to pay online and I am at work this is just so terrible and lack luster from the service to the cleanliness I would not recommend this hotel to anyone as it’s a hassle just to receive proper...
