You're better off sleeping in your car. Everything I'm about to list happened over the span of two days. Noise: This building sounds like it's 70 years old. Every floorboard creaks, you can hear every door, step, shower, and conversation of everyone on your floor (and if your unlucky enough to get the bottom floor, above you). If you're in a room near an entry way, lots of luck to you. There were people coming in and out, yelling, coughing, spitting, and slamming doors at all hours of the night while we were there. The road noise is fairly loud depending on the room. The tiny mini fridge in the room will wake you up with a loud dripping noise (regardless of whether it's plugged in or not) and loud clunks as it produces ice. The fan/AC in the room kicks on whenever it feels like it and may jar you awake (happened to us throughout the first night despite us being exhausted already). Smells: Every room in this place had its own unique smell. Some smell like curry and old food, some smell like an old playplace that hasn't been washed in years, most smell like mold. In both rooms we stayed in, everything was damp with visible mold on the ceiling. Turning on the fan/AC just intensified the mold smell. Our noses were completely stuffed up for our stay. Cleanliness: Stray black hairs, stains, and burn holes on everything. And I mean everything. Sheets, pillows, blankets, the bed skirt, even the towels. When I asked the front desk for fresh sheets, the woman asked to come into our room to verify that anything needed changing. When I pointed out the hair to her, she said the pillowcases should be clean since they go over them with a hair roller. She also saw no problems with the countless yellow and brown stains on the bed linens, and no problem with the sticky white stains on the bed skirt. If anything, she seemed annoyed that I had bothered her with any of these cleanliness issues. If all this wasn't enough, the bathroom floors were sticky, and we found three different large spiders in our room. The real kicker was when our room door literally broke off its hinge. I don't mean it broke a little but could still close. I mean the door was hanging at such an angle that it could no longer close at all. When we called the front desk, she said she'd see about calling someone. We had a wedding to go to, so we waited as long as we could but eventually had to leave. It had been about twenty minutes and we decided to pack up all our things and move them to the car. When we went to the front desk to ask what the situation was with the door, again she seemed annoyed and acted like we were being entitled to ask for a door that could, in any sense, close. She assured us we could have a new room once we returned, but at this point we were beyond done with the rude attitudes and disgusting conditions of the building and chose to cancel our last night. Even that was a fiasco, with the person we were speaking to yelling at us that we still had to pay for the other nights we stayed (we never said we wouldn't) and not giving us a clear confirmation that we were officially checked out or cancelled. The one good thing? Their free breakfast had some great Honeycrisp apples. (Their cereal was...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis place was terrifying. There are no lights in the parking lot. They do come one with a motion sensor, but stay on for only a moment or two. You are also greeted by a huge pot hole as you pull inā¦which you wonāt see because it is dark.
I arrived to check in to a dark lobby, rang the bell and called the phone number, it was about 9:45pm. I stood alone in this dingy lobby for over 10 minutes before any workers emerged. The first employee I encountered was terrible. Unkind and rude donāt scratch the surface of this more than 30 minute insane check in process where I definitely felt like I was about to be scammed.
While I was waiting, another guest told me the worker was āprobably sleepingā and to look out for tweakersā He suggested that I knock on the door behind the deskāTO WAKE HIM UP!! What?! He eventually came out from the shadows with a clearly homeless woman who was definitely in an altered state.
Finally got a room, it was filthy, but the worst part is that the first floor windows were totally open with no screens or ability to lock.
As a woman traveling alone, I was more than upset that I would not be able to securely close the window and anyone walking by could enter. The window opened so easily it was insane. So I went to the desk to get a new room.
I headed down the dark hallways full of garbage bags, and secluded stairwells with no security, I carried mace in my hand ready to go. There were men just wandering the halls back and forth. I saw the same man walk up the stairs and back to the lobby multiple times while I was waiting. It felt very unsafe.
A new worker gave me a different room on the second floor. This room was next door to a room that had clearly been entered forcefullyā¦the door lock was busted in and the door was splintered.
This new room was clearly in use. Pic attached. Blankets everywhere, smelled terrible. Did not even go in for fear that someone could be in the room or headed back to the room at some point in the night. By this time it is nearly midnight, I headed back down the hallway of horrors to the desk only to be met with an employee who was confused as to why I was unhappy.
I travel for a living and I have never encountered a more terrifying place for a woman alone. I immediately left.
A colleague did stay, another single woman staying alone, and she was cornered in the stairwell by a man demanding that she talked to him.
This place should be shut down. Please do not stay here under any...
