Dear Red Roof Manager,
I wanted to provide some feedback regarding my parents' recent stay on the evening of July 29, 2025. I called around 7:00 PM that day to inquire about availability for a first-floor King room, as my parents had just arrived from Florida and have limited mobility. The woman who answered confirmed that a room was available for that night. I provided my mother’s name and credit card information to hold the reservation.
However, upon check-in, my mother called me, confused and frustrated. The woman at the front desk stated that the reservation was made for Friday, which I never mentioned. I had confirmed during the call that the room was for that night only, and the woman on the phone acknowledged that. While speaking with my mom at check-in, she reiterated that it was just for one night — as I had arranged. Oddly enough, shortly after that exchange, the same room I had reserved suddenly became available.
Another concern involved the parking check-in process. Since my parents had to park in the back due to their mobility issues, walking around the building was already a challenge. The front desk staff member insisted they provide a “badge number” before giving them the key, even after they explained the difficulty of walking back. Only after some pushback did she “guess” she could accept the make and model of the vehicle instead. That could’ve been handled with a bit more flexibility and understanding.
That said, my parents were absolutely blown away by the room itself. They said it was beautiful, and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Kudos to your housekeeping team for providing a top-tier experience — truly appreciated after their long drive.
Unfortunately, the check-in process was disappointing. They described the front desk woman as rude, lacking any warmth or hospitality, and clearly unhappy to assist. That interaction left a poor first impression which contrasted sharply with the otherwise excellent stay.
I hope this feedback can be used constructively to improve front desk interactions going forward. Thank you for taking the time to read this.

⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)
This Red Roof Inn is the latest facelift on a decades-old Norwich establishment, but don’t expect much beyond the basics. It’s a no-frills stay—no in-house bar, no restaurant—just a place to sleep. One of the more peculiar choices is a former hallway downstairs, now repurposed into a "dining area," as if a long table with 12 chairs magically transforms a narrow corridor into a banquet hall. A+ for imagination, I suppose.
The room itself carried remnants of the past, including a smoke detector that looked straight out of the '70s—possibly from when my aunt was head of housekeeping back when this was the Treadway Hotel and later a Howard Johnson’s. The bathroom fan was a nightmare, screeching loud enough to make you question if it was powered by a tortured spirit.
That said, the beds were surprisingly comfortable, and the extra comforters were a nice touch. But at $112 per night, it's an overpriced stay in a town that feels like it was left in the hands of drunken city planners for the last 30 years. Norwich has seen better days—decades ago. If you're passing through, this place will do in a pinch, but for the price, you might want to...
Read moreThis recently renovated property has a modern look and feel. The beds and bathtubs are very good. The rooms have microwaves, coffee makers (with supplies) and refrigerators. The new floors are vinyl, so if you like carpet, you will not have that cozy feeling beneath your feet. The upside is that bare floors are more hygienic. The A/C- heat works great and has a digital readout where you can select your preferred temperature. There is no swimming pool and a very small outdoor seating area with just two chairs and a little table for smokers. The outdoor seating is actually tucked in among the landscaping just outside the front door.
The team members were very accommodating and helpful. The breakfast is "grab and go," so if you're expecting waffles or eggs, you'll have to settle for muffins or banana bread. Not too bad, actually. There is coffee, tea, and juice as well. All in all, you will get a clean, comfortable room right in the center of town. It is near churches, shopping, and a few museums, including the classic car museum. We were...
