July 13 After my wife and I specifically asked to be put in a quiet area of the hotel and not adjacent to pets, employee #1 gave us the first room adjacent to a busy hotel entrance door and directly across from the housekeeping room and the public laundry. In addition, we immediately encountered a very large dog in the hallway entering the adjacent room! We politely requested another room, and were given a room on the second floor in a remote corner room, by employee #1. Upon unlocking the door, we shockingly and embarrassingly discovered someone was already in the room. They were shocked too, and we had to explain ourselves. Imagine that situation! How awkward and potentially inflammatory it could have been. During the exchange of explaining our situation to the front desk (now manned by a employee #2, along with #1) employee #1 made an excuse that she had only just arrived at 3pm and so wasnât aware who was in the rooms (it was 5:20pm at this time). Doesnât the system provide that information, we asked? Whoa! This was totally unacceptable. Employee #2 then took over, she seemed to be more of a manager from what we could tell. She then gave us a room directly off the lobby, which we questioned based on our original request for a quiet room. She assured us the lobby was very quiet and it would be a fine room. We took her word as we were exasperated at this point. Sure enough, later that night we heard loud voices from people hanging out in the lobby. Not a quiet room as promised.
For a $450/night hotel, the breakfast was abysmmal. Very limited choices and not one piece of fresh or even precut fruit.
We have stayed at this hotel previously when it was a Best Western and were totally disappointed then. With the new ârebrandingâ, we decided to give it another try. What a joke. Same dumpy hotel with terrible service, with a slight revamp at front desk introducing a bar and bistro. Didnât see one person at the bar during our...
Read moreMy two adult sons and I spent our entire ten day vacation at this hotel . I was looking for an outdoor pool , and not too far from town because none of us drive . It was already late to make summer plans , so availability was limited at most hotels. We had a very nice time , the staff was warm and friendly and overall helpful for the most part . The rooms and hotel are comfortable and clean , there was no daily maid service due to Covid19, but I was still able to ask them for bathroom supplies and fresh towels and bed sheets. The microwave didnât work , but after three attempts they replaced it . Apparently theyâre normally supposed to offer a shuttle transportation service , which was temporarily not operating . The beds were very comfortable and the room was a good size. Free breakfast was nice , with make your own waffle machines etc. Free tea and coffee was always available , we were very close to Saratoga Spa State Park. The rates are comparatively quite reasonable. Thereâs also a laundry machine on the premises , and the pool is open until 10 pm the hotel is not within walking distance to town, we used Uber a lot . Thereâs PJâs Barbecue directly across the expressway, and they closest 8 pm. A restaurant called 13North is a 23 minute walk . The expressway is a bit difficult to cross over . The towns of Saratoga and Malta are lovely with shops and restaurants , a movie theater and bowling alley, Live music performances. I recommend this hotel if you donât plan to pay a lot for...
Read moreIf youâre looking for a fairly inexpensive place to stay, here it is. Hotel is located on the outskirts of the Saratoga city center. Rooms are pretty good, with both a microwave and mini fridge. There is not a lot of area to put your stuff (one nightstand for 2 queen beds and one table, with a couple drawers and space under the TV). The hotel is pet-friendly, so if you have allergies I wouldnât reccomend as there are no pet free areas that I know of. There was some pet/human hair in the beds and in the bathroom, which was a little off putting. The outdoor pool was excellent, and the front desk provided towels that were already disinfected. No buffet style breakfast, but they offered pre-packaged items. âGrab n goâ breakfast options were pretty limited from the small âmenuâ they gave us to a sugary muffin, a fruit, yogurt, and a drink, but what are you gonna do (system was probably made on short notice due to pandemic). Staff were helpful and friendly, and always gave us pre-disinfected bath towels whenever we asked. Kathy was so kind by suggesting many different areas and activities to do (like the Saratoga Spa State Park) and was very helpful with the reservation. Overall she was a very great person that is happy to help with any problem. Some improvements: a better and consistent selection of breakfast items (things listed on the menu were not there) and room cleanliness. Overall, a good experience under the circumstances of COVID-19, and I...
