This is our favorite place to stay in Stanley. It's not super fancy but it has some of the best views of the Sawtooths. The staff is kind and loved our dog. The older cabins and motel are great. We have had groups of friends stay all at the same time so we can grill and hang out on the river. If you can get one of their updated cabins (for when you parents come), it's a lot nicer but harder to come by.

If you have a dog, you can easily walk over to Nip and Tuck Rd for a quiet stroll off leash. It's possible to walk to upper Stanley but the highway isn't very nice to walk on.

I stayed here a couple times during the week and just worked from the cabin. The internet was solid enough for video calls and I spent the day between offroading and working in the motel.

You have easy access to Sunbeam hot springs and a skip over to the Custer ghost town and Yankee...

This place is simply amazing. Not 5 star, $1,000 a night amazing, but a true gem in the wilderness. We had a motel room.

hot showers at the end of the day were great! two burner stove, mid-size fridge & microwave (along with pans, dishes and utensils) made it easy to prepare meals bed was super comfy and the best part -- you have either a balcony or a deck that is literally 12 feet from the Salmon River oh, and if that isn't enough for you, you have a view of the Sawtooth Mountains (with the river in the foreground). staff were very friendly - they even stopped by to ask if we needed anything during our stay. pet fee is quite reasonable. WiFi speeds were crazy -- 100 mbps download, faster than my home internet upload speed.

We stayed in the duplex cabins #26 & #27, both with the upstairs sleeping area. We had a great time, location was awesome right on the river. The cabins were clean, warm and kitchen well stocked. Love that they are pet friendly & price was reasonable. Our only concern is the 'stairs' to get to the upper room are more like a cross between stairs and a ladder, they are very, very steep. Our dog fell coming down and refused to go back up. It was hard to carry luggage up. We came down them backwards, like one would on a ladder. I don't think these stairs would be good for young children or people with mobility issues. The stairs are the reason for 4,...

Just had a really nice 4 night stay here in Lower Stanley. The room was nice with a small kitchenette, and a nice back porch overlooking the salmon river and the Sawtooth mountain range (see picture.) The store connected to the motel has a great selection for the space - better than many much larger stores in other towns that we stayed in this trip. Service was great - room taken care of every night, unlike other lodging we had that only did it every few days. We would definitely stay here again, and Stanley is on our list of places to visit again.
