I missed the Stanley museum, but Salmon has a world-class museum, run by a Ph.D, ISU prof. Hope Benedict, specialist in Western and Western Women's history, which is pretty cool as Sacajawea's home is in the area. 10 stars. Staff was friendly and knowledgeable, not only about the history of the area but the hiking trails and other activities in the area. Visiting the area is best in the fall when there are fewer people and before many places close...
