We have stayed at numerous military campgrounds and this BY FAR is the most run down, over grown and rudest Outdoor Rec office staff we have encountered. The grass is literally over a foot tall or more in areas everywhere. Picnic table falling apart, water being shut off without notification, staff in office very passive aggressive when asked basic questions. When checking in, I very politely asked when the grass would be cut and response was “Sir, it’s been raining. We can’t cut the grass in the rain.” By the length of the grass, it has not been cut in an VERY long time! Extremely noisy due to road next to camp ground. This campground is a disgrace.

RV spots are concrete pads, area is spacious, FHU was $45. Many empty spots. Two washers($1.50) and two dryers($1). All of them worked well. Kids enjoyed doing a puzzle and playing with a mousetrap boardgame thats available in TV lounge. However the TV lounge has a lot of cobweb and dust. Pool table had no balls and covered in spiderwebs. Water heater in laundry room is spilling water. Toilets and showers were disgusting. There was trash on our site. Huge garbage bag in fire pit and grass growing in another. Water was leaking from the spigot in the empty campsite next to us. Campground is not taken care of.

This place is low awful, grass not cut, standing water all around the pad, and the pot holes are everywhere. Not up to military standards!

Our stay here was uneventful. The only things this campground has going for it is location to DC(metro)& level cement pass. It needs a complete overhaul!! The roads inside the park need regrading. They are very bumpy and uneven, NOT good for your RV/camper. The buildings are very dated. The grounds have been ignored for a long time. They are covered with layers & layers of old leaves and sticks. I will say, the laundry area was nice and priced great however, there is no change machine available and office doesn't have any either. We had to leave campground and go to golf course clubhouse for change "frustrating ".

Denise in office was nice and very helpful.

Honestly, the manager of this facility needs to take a good look at it and ask him/her self "Am I proud of this campground I manage "?

I also want to say, the military NEEDS to start putting more money into these Famcamps. This is NOT any way to treat your active, veteran and...

I had to see for my own experience why the rating on this fam camp is so bad!! Was on base called fam camp over the phone. A woman answered the phone and sounded so bothered and rude. Instead of saying "how may I help you" she said "what do you need?" With such a tone of a self entitlement. Asked me what kind of camper I had i said I had a truck camper that sits on my truck bed then cuts me off and said "oh that's not a recreational vehicle. I told her that I have been staying at various airforce fam camps all over the nation and this is the first time im being told this. I just stayed at JB charleston 3 weeks ago matter fact. It was obvious that this woman has an attitude problem. She even had the audacity to ask me what my camper has inside lol. Whoever this woman is, you're the reason why mwr has such a horrible reputation and I hope you lose your job in this govt shut down. You have no place to serve veterans in...

Good location and nice parking spots for RVs plus tent camping spots too. Offers electric only for $30 a night or full hookups at $45 a night. For electric only there is a water spigot at the dump station. Nice area near the golf course and overall fairly comfortable. Full hookup spaces all seem to be large enough for your towed vehicle as well unless the RV is huge. Overflow parking is available in those instances. Two flush toilet stalls, two changing room areas and three showers in the ladies side of the facility although as of this writing the handicap shower stall is inop and appears to have been that way for a while. Changing room and shower layout is a bit arcane and weird; and overdue a remodel. Overall the convenience of location and the surprisingly quiet nature of the area are the winners for this...
